Stickers or decals?
01/05/13 3:09 PM

Anyone have anthing on their bike to advertise parts you've put on it? I was thinking about the Brock's sticker, but its blue and my bike green. I also have a competition werks sticker from the fender eliminator, and a Power Commander and Dynojet sticker...........but not sure if they'd look too kiddy looking or not.

Anyone have any stickers or decals you think really look sharp without looking too teenager? Maybe a *ZX14R* decal?

I am thinking of getting my sticker fix by putting one tasteful, small green flame on each side of my helmet to match the bike.

I am open to ideas.

Thoughts? Opinions? Photos?

Every time I get a sticker with a component purchase, it goes on my toolbox rather than on the bike. Graphics are ok, if that's what you like, but sponsor stickers on a streetbike look like wannabe stuff to me, unless you're honoring a real racer by making a replica.

Kevin Cameron told a story of when he and his buds first started racing, They plastered every sticker they could find on their bikes' fairings. One day, Gary Nixon walked by their pit and said, in the manner he always spoke (out of the side of his mouth with his lips barely open), "You guys get paid for all them stickers?" They had no idea sponsors paid the top riders to advertise their products on the racebikes.

I took all the logos off mine and then some A-hole at work put 3 gouges in the seat cowl so it has a Brocks sticker on it to cover up the damage.

That's not a sticker, it's a band-aid for an ouchie.

Since my soon to be bike will not have flames...I bought a set of the ones on the right side of the pic there...second set down...had to do SOMETHING to set that black/green interface off just a smidgen....these should break up that line nicely.Other than those...no ads or logos for me...all the badges will be coming off...along with the reflectors and rear fender. Will be adding the MRA Double Bubble in clear...it has the black sun coating like the stock ones...just a bit more stylish.Should be really nice looking on there. Some Helis...Kaoko throttle lock...blacked out heel guards and brake/clutch foot levers...that's all she needs for me.(and blacked out frame bolts/pegs/green painted bolts for the fender, side covers, black for the lowers.Chrome Yoshi's duals.I'll be satisfied.CF Hugger...should be good to go...MAYBE..my gold "kanji" 'dream' sticker set I bough a while back....not sure yet.Looked pretty good on my last 14R...matched the Green really well.A set if right and left tank grips from TechSpec...should round her off just right.

I would of liked a Green ZX14r to my Black14r as I think it hides the detail but couldn,t wait 2 months to get one!!! so I settled for the Black14r IMO it needs braking up a bit so like my 04 CBR1100xx I got decals for the lower fairing on my 14R just to break it up a bit same as my 2010 ZX14 ya know it,s what floats ya boat or different strokes for different Blokes lol

If you ever want to put any lettering or graphics on, Immortal Graphix (those exact words find them on google) has first class vinyl decals that you "rub" on with a credit card and then peel the backing off.

I put them on my ZX14 after I replaced all the cowling (including the rear cowling) with MDI (Japanese) carbon fiber. But instead of replicating exactly the OEM lettering, I did it in Kanji and the effect was most excellant, and not at all juvenile.

Got a lot of looks with that bike, people trying to figure out what it was, since everything was in Kanji.

Ok I found the pictures.....

The bike changed after this picture, new seat, new handlebars, new windscreen, new pegs, etc. But all the cowling pieces are carbon fiber plus the hugger and ZX10 front fender. All from MDI except hugger is Powerbronze.

You can see the mounts for the V35 Givi luggage rack and top rack plate, if you look close...

When I put the ZG Sport Touring windscreen on it, I put one of Immortal Graphix's translucent dragon decals on, with the Kanji words "Black Dragon" and in small print under it, also in Kanji, "Harleys Suck".

That is sharp. Kinda puts me in the mind of the Hayabusa symbol in Japanese.

Looks good. Thanks for posting.

LOL. I go out of my way to AVOID any advertising. Part of the reason I chose Area P cans is because you don't have to accept their labels. I chose a tank guard from Immortal Graphix because it was ALL black, no name on it. Peeled the sticker off my dark smoke Zero gravity screen. I also said "no name tag" on my customized seat by Sargent's.
Too many otherwise decent looking parts have "ZX" printed or embedded or even cut into them. Looks bad with "ZX" all over your bike, like you or someone else doesn't know it already.
Just never understood it. Custom parts should be all about detail, not turning your bike into an advertisement board.

I guess if ya really are pumped about the stuff ya get...pipes...powercommanders...tires....it's cool.Personally...I don't like any graphics(badging and such)'getting in the way' of the clean look of an unbadged(decaled)bike.I purposely removed the Kawasaki logos....zx logos...'ninja'(though THAT one could be okay IMO).Only kept the 'KTRC/ABS' small stickers on the front....but I think that's coming off as well)...like right nowLOL!!!
The MRA one doesn't come off the screen..or it'd be gone as well.I'm not putting that flame set on that belly fairing either as I planned...nope...she looks just fine as she is.The Yoshi badge is okay...it's stayable.Only because they revised the style of it...that big rectangular older badge...no way.

The helmet deal...ya...that sounds cool....I might do something like that...would look okay on a dark CF helmet....
