Radiator Fan...BS!
10/06/14 5:15 PM

Well I have a bad fan on the bike the small one on the right side, I went online to buy a factory replacement only to find out they want $300 for one.....WTH?
So I remembered I had bought one for my 07 bike, but I notice that it was the large one of the two, my question is that will I be able to add another large one in the right side of the radiator?
I also call Schultz racing and they won't have anything for another 4 weeks and I can't wait that long does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in Advance

That's kind of scary, what happened to it?

Something was stuck between the fan & rad preventing it from spinning and blowing the fuse and now it will only come one if I kick start it/spin it first.

You can add another stock fan on the other side. The tabs are already on the radiator. You can just wire it into the existing stock fan or wire it up with a toggle switch with a fuse on it to turn on fans sooner. Did the mod on my zx10 and on a buddies 06 zx14. Just get 2 stock fans and save some money. You may have to mod some angle brackets to get the best fit from your local hardware store

Dam!
Just replaced two of these motors after an impact with a bag of concrete sent my cooling fans into the headers!!!
400 per unit Canadian over here. Had to replace two.

Well turns out both large fans will not fit, but I was able to replace the fans motors for the large one to the sample one and it works great.

Just for future reference, WW Grainger is a great source for small fractional horsepower motors of all sizes and shapes. I have usually always been able to find odd size motors from Grainger when I couldn't get them anywhere else, just need to know the dimensions. If I have had questions I just call them, pretty nice people and if they don't have it they usually know who does.
