I have owned a Cbr F3 then 02 gixxer 1k with NOS and 05 gixxer 1k fully modded, and I enjoy this bike more than all of them, buying this 14 brought back that excitement I had when I bought my first sportbike. I find myself washing the shit out of this bike, I always want it looking perfect!

I'd be shocked if it had much on the zx14 with your set up.

Here's a couple of rolling start drag races between an '07 ZX-14 and an '07 CBR 1000RR. Don't have any idea of the rider weights or mods on either bike. In vid #1 it looks like the CBR gets the initial jump then the 14 finally overtakes at about 180 mph when the CBR starts to run out of steam but the CBR makes it to a GPS certified 300 kilometers/hour or 186 mph. I was surprised how close the CBR's speedo was to the actual GPS reading, most speedos are a bit optimistic. In the second vid, it looks like the 14 starts to pull away but then the CBR goes blasting by and keeps accelerating. I can't tell if the 14 rider backed off or just got stomped. Both bikes are very comparable in speed and acceleration it would appear but I know which I would rather be on for the long haul.

I ride with a friend that has a GSXR-1000 K7 we swap bikes from time to time , When we get off I ask him to pick the better bike, He finds himself caught between two worlds, loves both of them. Me I'm sold on the 14 just love it ,I look at a liter sports bike like I would a Goldwing . a bike I'd never buy.

All I wanted in a bike was true sports tourer, nothing hits the spot like the 14

Friend is buying a 14 and keeping the liter bike good luck to him.!

Now that I have both I can tell you for sure if one had to go it would be the literbike. Acceleration and terminal velocity wise there is not a great difference as you can see from the Youtube videos I provided. On tight roads with lots of left right transitions or on a racetrack the literbike would have a definite edge. Other than that for 99% of the riding I do the 14 is the superior mount and the great brakes and smooth engine are just icing on the cake. Hell yes I'm impressed with my big Ninja and I ain't that easy to please! Show me a better all around superbike than a 14 and I'll buy one!

Anyone notice in the second video the guy on the 14 appeared to close the throttle before each shift so every time he would shift the CBR would gain some ground. The guy was also pretty good size not to mention wearing a parachute of a jacket, soft saddle bags, tail bag and not tucked for shit. Hell if he would have just foot shifted he would have pulled away from the CBR. Obviously the guy on the zx14 knows nothing about racing or getting the best out of the bike which is fine thats not what street bikes are for anyway.I would think the TQ and HP advantage a zx14 has over a liter in the low/mid range is so big the weight difference won't help the liter much.

Yep, I noticed all that and also in the first vid the CBR pilot is an ace, I'm watching him shift and he's kissin the redline and nailing his power shifts almost perfect. I imagine based upon how rapidly his rpm rises he's a light weight, prolly 135 pounds soaking wet. You put me on the CBR and it doesn't rev that quick, like I said big bikes for big boyz!

In the second vid, the CBR jock is not hitting his shifts as quickly and it looks like the 14 starts to pull him but then that parachute of a jacket and those saddle bags look like they're catchin way too much air above 100 mph!.

I've had many different bikes over the past couple years, searching for the ONE that was fun, practical & comfortable. I love the feel of a supersport. There, the ZX delivers; the power is smooth and predictable. The transmission on my ZX is the smoothest shifting bike I've owned by far. Comfort - NO COMPARISON! Ergonomically, for my height & body composition, my ZX is AWESOME. My wrist doesn't hurt, I can sit up without being blown off the bike at 100mph or I can easily tuck in behind the double-bubble to open it up. Handling/Brakes - this bike is smooth & easy. All around - this is the best bike for ME! I have many friends that ride Busa's and for them, it's the best bike ( & I would never turn down a Busa if someone wanted to give me one b/c they are incredible rides in their own right ). But for my money - it's the ZX-14 -- NO DOUBT.

I do have ONE complaint/gripe/concern: NO storage space! For a solo rider, I like to be able to stow my ball cap or a bottle of water or other small objects when I go for a ride. With my Busa, I had storage under the rear seat & storage in the Rear Hump after a small mod. I know Busa riders that carry a tire pump, repair kit & rain gear everywhere they go. For me to do that - it requires a bag of some sort. I really wish 'Saki had give us a little trunk space or modular seat system that could be used for storage.

That zx aint shiftin at full potential. The CBR is "wide open"-and runnin out of punch at it's redline. The 14's got plenty more pop to go.Mine is way quicker than that cbr's movin.Shoulda had him in the first two gears. And walked away through the rest.

Haha, there is no doubt that going from a ZRX with the Ted's Battery Relocation Kit to a ZX-14 is the most extreme leap in storage space you could possibly make. On my ZRX I can keep all my raingear, my tools, my hurricane gloves, and my full sized sneakers under the seat. On a ZX-14 you have to lean on the seat to make it click over the insurance papers.

Yep with Teds battery out kit there is all kinds of space under the seat so my 14 has to have a tailbag for storage. My rain suit, tire repair/compressor and assorted odds and ends go in it then I also have a tank bag.

Reeves did you go to a full Muzzy? I remember when Tommy was setting your bike up it had flies out, Muzzy slips, TRE006, PCIII and Ivan's mapping. It sounds like you've done more work to it since. I remember when he threw me the keys to that thing and said "go ride it and tell me what you think". At the time my 14, had the older style TRE and the Yoshi slipons, the rest stock and his bike made mine feel like a minibike. I was on the phone ordering all the goodies that afternoon.. LOL! These bikes are a rush when they're setup right.

I'm surprised that CBR made it to a GPS 300 Km/hr (186 mph). The '06/'07 are known for running into the wall at about 175 mph but heck that's fast enough for me. Yer right, that CBR was bouncin off the redline. Swap riders and the results would have been different, just goes to show you, bike can only do so much, the rest is up to the throttle jockey.

kruz, i guaranfreakintee you that if you put a full system on you will not be disappointed. it was like my bike took a shot of horse steriods last night and was giving me the run of my life this morning!

i've been dealing with the full muzzy m10 ever since last thursday night. i took the plastics, radiator, slipons, stock pipes all off to get ready for the new (to me) pipes. little did i know that the far right header was not going to seal properly without new gaskets. the gaskets came in two nights ago. i got so excited i tightened the headers down without putting the m10 can on. @#$% lots of 4 letter words started coming out of my mouth. well, i had to loosen the headers back out to put the can on. well, the gaskets weren't fresh then they had already been torqued on once. put the can on, tightened the header nuts down again and fired it up. no leaks! cleaned the radiator and put new coolant in and checked for leaks again. none! i plan to check again though after riding today. i'll probably check them sunday afternoon.

kruz, if you haven't changed the radiator fluid, it's time buddy. that stuff looked like swamp water! it's got new neon green/yellow flowing through her veins again.

i saved ivan's map to my laptop then dloaded the m10 map from muzzy for flies out. i've got a custom map from a guy on bikeland i'll try eventually, but i wanted to try this one first. very pleased with the setup so far. it's the best bang for the buck "i've" done to the bike so far. the power comes out of nowhere at 4k. i was taken back and was unexpecting it when i pulled out of the subdivision! but i held my grip, haha. if you need another jump up from what you've got this is a great way to do it. i just don't believe i'll be needin' that 16 tooth sprocket just yet!

yeah, it's the standard m10 which is an older model than the m14 header with the m10 can. it's a little difficult to tell all these different muzzy's apart, but if you get the m14 headers instead of the standard m10 headers you'll net even more power from the increased size in diameter. go spend and have fun!

OKAY!!!-I'm SOLD! I don't see anything on their site about "dual" M-14's.Did you see any there? With their supplied map(if you're using that(?)are you getting a surge at idle?Is that normal? The set I listened to on the web surged pretty intensely. My bud's got an 08 Busa with the Alien Head-surges at idle fairly pronounced(but runs like a raped ape!)

the full m14 headers have only a single canister. you can get the oval can which doesn't produce as much power or the shorter m10 canister. some people have both and switch them out for street and racing. i'm keeping my slipons just in case, haha.

yes, the surging is definitely more pronounced, but i turned the idle speed up slightly and it's a little better. small price to pay for so much power i guess, lol.

I was impressed when I first rode my bike and it wasnt even because of the motor. It was because of the brakes and the comfort factor. Most liter and 600 bikes were way to cramped for me after two hours of riding I would feel like I needed to go to the chiropractor. This bike was so comfortable out of the box it was hard to believe it was still a sport bike. I heard someone talk about how fast their R1 was, and I dont doubt it. However the one I rode was a dog in the low range even worse than the stock 14 out of the box. Overall I am very satisfied with this bike as it is something I can ride until I am 60. Not to mention I think most of the new liter and 600 bikes looks dont do it for me. The minute I saw the 14s front I was hooked, the thing just looks evil.

I've owned my 14 since Dec'07. It still puts a smile on my face. I even look forward to riding it even if just going to/from work. I get quite a few stares at red lights and it just makes you feel good.
I'm allowed to park the bike inside my office at work. A couple days ago a fellow worker comes in and stares at my bike while I'm on the phone. As he's leaving he says "that bike looks like if you get too close it'll bite you". Cool.
I also got what I take as another compliment one day at a florist shop. She looks out and sees my bike and says "it looks like what Darth Vader would ride". Again...cool.
