I hit a rabbit at 120mph a few years ago on my FJ12. Two-up and at night. The rabbit 'exploded', and the bikes' underside got covered in blood. All I felt was a slight bump. The forks easily absorbed the shock.
Was on a hired CBR400 in Phuket. Circuiting the island, I came round a corner at about 60mph leaned right over, and met an elephant bimbling across the road. That got interesting. I missed its back legs by inches, but slowed down a bit after that!
Had a go on a runway early last year on my '14. It felt like I was doing about 150-160mph the way the bike was still accelerating so strongly, but when I glanced down to confirm it, the needle was at 185 and about to go off the clock! Hit 185 (indicated) before shutting off and braking for my life. (It was an 1800 metre runway.) The high speed isn't scary, I can't get enough of that, It's the braking in a hurry from high speed! You begin to think you're never gonna slow down. To think the racers do it a couple of dozen times each race. Respect.
