14R - Remove flies? Block off plates?
11/12/13 3:44 PM

What small engine/electronics mods on the 2008-2011 ZX14's also work well with the 2012 and up ZX14R? Obviously, a full pipe, PowerCommander V, etc, would help power.

However, I have not heard anyone talking about anything like TRE's, removing the secondary flies, block off plates to remove the smog polution air pump, etc. In fact, I noticed that TRE's were not even available for the 14R.

Thanks!

Don't limp it with a tre. Flash them flys open. Block off the hose going into the left side of the air box. It is not necessary to use block off plates on the smog stuff unless you are really desperate in looking for ways to lose another few ounces of weight off the bike.

Listen to Nasty. I did the same, flash your ECU. Check the vendor to make sure the flies open early in the low rev ranges and that the "nanny" is disabled or the computer will chop the HP if your riding her hard. And I mean it will handicap your bike a lot... By up to 30% or more...
