FS M4 retro slip ons - Great condition
05/05/09 10:11 AM

I'm selling my M4 retro slip-ons and going with a full system. I love the look and sound of the pipes but I want to tone down how loud I ride.

They are in great condition. The only thing wrong with them is where the rubber sole of my boot has touched the pipe when placing my kickstand down. ZERO scratches and ZERO dings.

I'm looking for $375 plus shipping (paypal only).

Check out the link for pics.. M4 Slip on pics...

Thanks,
Chris

Saw a dyno sheet from a 14 tuned with M-4s. 11hp gain and actually improved low end.

Hey Boss
I am very interested. Do you have pics with them on the bike. And I have never used paypal before so it would be a help if you could explain it for me.

Rook - No kidding? I always thought the butt dyno felt an improvement but it's cool to see some real world numbers on it.

zx14jarhead - I've got a couple pictures here with the pipes on the bike. http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/chris40oz77/Motorcycle%20Pics/ This album has a lot of pics of my previous bikes so please disregard them. What year is your bike? From my understanding these will only fit 08 and 09 zx14's.

Joe -

I'll do a money order too. Just know I'll wait to ship the pipes until after I have the money order in hand.

Oops, i haven't been on the site much lately because of work. Sorry for the late replies. But yes, the pipes are still for sale! They've been sitting in my closet for the last couple months.

If you're still interested email me directly at chris40oz77@gmail.com and we'll hammer out the details.

huhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- Enjoy 'em, silvr. Have to admit, I was a little tempted to try and scoop you on those M4s. Wish I would have known they were still for sale a few weeks ago. Great pipes and you can't loose with a price like that.

I've already heard good things from chris and a couple others who have owned retrodrags. Sounds like there is not much if any bottom end loss. That will be the exhaust I go with if I don't go 4-2-1.

But yeah, whoever has M-4 retros, post your impressions.

I got the M4s. Just happened to be on line when chris re-offered them. I'm combining them with an 06 headder which I had ceramic coated (black.) I'll also be adding a PCIII so there's a few things going to change all at once. I'm looking for performance and sound aesthetics but I'm also hoping to eliminate an overheating problem I have when I'm pushing it hard on twisty backroads. I've gotten leg burns just above my boots right through my pants. I'm keeping my stock system in reserve in case I get cited by the Highway Patrol. It doesn't happen often but you can get cited for removing cats in California. It's has happened to me before. You know how it is...some cops like bikes and some don't.

Unfortunately I have to go into the hospital for a "proceedure" this week. I'm not sure how long I'll be recuping but I hope to get the system mounted in a couple of weeks. I will post the results of the modification. It's always interesting to share and compare.
Ride safe y'all.

Hi Sharkey

I have an 08 as well. I have already found out the hard way that the 06/07 ZX 14 exgaust headers are a completely (smaller) different size than the 08/09 exhaust headers. Don't think you will be able to use the 06 header, its pipe diameter will be too small to mate up with silencers intended for 08/09. Don't take off your stock 08 header pipes until you check the fit of the new to you M4's on the 06 header.... Even if you could figure out how to make some sort of adaptor to hook up the 08 M4's to an 06 header, I still wouldn't use the smaller diameter 06 header pipe on an 08
