Yo, my boy Cblast sorted my suspension from 3000 miles away, that is, I held the screw driver and he talked me through the play by play. Just sitting on the bike and pushing down on her I noted a huge difference. She was a sofa before, now she is a responsive sprung weapon. I test ride her tonight and I'll post impressions, that is after I heat up those tires.

I have two points to make

1) first, to call faults with my set up over the phone and walk me through the adjustment requires mad skills. Thank you C!

2) second, I know many people on this site have the knowledge to custom sort the stock set up, yet they don't post this info or contact us blokes pushing the envelope (actually riding the bike)??? What are you afraid of? Not enough ride to keep up, or you just want to selfishly sit on the golden egg?

I love that shite my brother Wolfman! I will do anything to help, my knowledge is your knowledge brother. You always make me want to share a story wolf! Here's one, I'm a little kid helping my dad at the track, I help him with bike set up. He is now bored with me and tells me to basically Piss off and stay out the way. So, I go walkin around kickin rocks, and I chat with some guy named Ron, he shakes my hand, asks what im doin, asks me to pass him a screwdriver. I do. We chat about suspension and stuff. I help him a bit, then I hear my dad yellin and off I go. Ron beats dad, dad pissed off. Why. He thought his own son gave away info. What bullshit. I told him 'yeah dad, I told him I liked her tight cause of the push through the transition to the hairpin was downhill.'
See, he wasn't faster than my dad because Of his setup. He was just faster. It's not ever just about the machine. It's about the rider. I will always help. I will ALWAYS answer the call. And if out there on the road I get eaten by a bigger predator, I will be the first to rip off my helmet and slap high fives! Ron and I became good friends over the years. He was still workin as a postman right here in Washington till recently. We used to go ridin together. Now he is a little older and moved on to touring bikes. Still an awesome rider. Showed me his taillights through the twisties more than once! I want everyone at their sharpest. I want everyone's ride sorted flawless. Then I want to go outside and play. I'm still that kid. I just grin bigger and grab more throttle my bro!
P.s. I told you dad, ur shit was set up too loose fer that downhill and you were gonna come up wrong for the hairpin, early apex, stead of late. You were slower all day through that section cause you were afraid she was gonna dump you into that Armco barrier before the hairpin. But if ur shit had tracked that transition better, you would have been carrying speed through that corner as a LATE apex. You would have beat Ron. You just didn't fuckin listen.

I took Ron out golfing last year, he is in his 80's now. We fuckin near cleared an entire sand trap with our golf cart on hole 8. Then we went to the 19th hole and I got him so fuckin drunk we had to call my wife to come get us. We laughed so fuckin hard that day! :)))
'Loose' isn't that fast on golf carts either.

Check the "How-To" section. I have learned a lot there from the Veterans in that section, just takes a little digging.

Just got in from a wicked ride, left the house at 9 and returned at 12! I cannot say enough about a properly dialed suspension. Not only do I feel the bike is faster, I don't get steering wiggle on acceleration and corners are just sorted. There is a pass on the Gardner highway where the bumps kick me off the bike, I actually catch air, now, I stay with the bike. C if someone told me about this sooner I would have had it sorted. Cannot thank you enough man! You made me a rocket! Whaaa I love this bike, it corners on a dime and accelerates like a fling rocket. I felt untouchable, oh wait, I am .... hhahahahahahahahah!

Very nice, Wolf! I've been working on dialing in my suspension since May with C's help! Now that I fully understand how everything works in conjunction with each other and what I am trying to achieve in the handling department, I have continued to fine tune all summer(as the suspension is breaking in I keep having to change things). A hair here and a skoatch there, the handing comes alive with minute adjustments! One quarter turn more open on the rear compression dampening this evening made me feel like I was on slot car track, stuck where ever I put it and still had the freedom, control, and grip to move her anywhere I wanted in the corner while leaned over at speed. I'm starting to get back to my normal speeds after dumping it last month, that shit put the fear in me...........

This is what I think makes this forum unique. You can share info, tips, achievements and lessons without getting flamed. Sure some tool will want to flame you at some time or another, but for the most part it's an awesome learning and sharing place, with like minded passionate people. That's what bike riders are ALL ABOUT. I can't get enough of it.

I am so fing glad I was able to help wolf my bro. Often times I hear people discussing the handling of the 'R' spec bike vs. the gen I. I can't say enough, until ur set up right, you can't appreciate this bikes chassis. Funny thing is I have been pushing harder nd harder and I can't find too many flaws. Rock covers scissors, paper covers rock, and the Ninja ZX-14R covers everything. :))

This bike is just plain crazy! I've got to try the Mich power pures next. Mich has a tire out called the "super sport" that I am tempted to look at. Right now these road 3's are just plain flawless the 55's corner like a dream!!!

'Stop worrying about your knees. They will balance you as long as ur position is correct. I slam my balls forward into tank, balls of feet always back to peg after shifting. And light on the wrists. The timing thing you are seeking is what happens when your carve turns into a slice after the deepest part of your dip into the corner correct? Yes. So that comes from correct timing of weighting of the inside foot and then the correct weighting of the inside bar. Think of tossing the turn up in the air like a ball, with ur foot to ur hand. Almost a foot weight then subtle catch push.

I listen to a lot of rap music. It is great for encouraging natural rhythm. Riding is that important a part of my life. It has shaped a drive in me for perfection. Some don't ever get it. Some carve one corner fast on a well set up bike and say 'holy shit, I been wasting time.' It is that good sir. The corner. The apex. The drive off corner is where I have found I can personally express myself. I like to leave a dark strip as I get small in front of people. :)) that's what they see. But I built it on a base of studying corner entry and smoothness. Slow in is often fast out see. Slow, smooth, fast comes. Corner entry speed will pick up the more confident you become. Once corner entry speed is improving, you will be wayyy fast. Smooth. Slight subtle power stabilizes the chassis, making that little weight shift to the INSIDE foot easier. See. Is any of this helping?
