RE: CBLAST FLASH RIDE REPORT

Rider

My name is Wolfman (I am a disciple of the 14r), and today I am reviewing the CBlast Flash put out by Predator Racing. I am an ordinary man, astride an extraordinary bike. Ridden several sport bikes, litre bikes and have held my M Class license for 19 years. My son is my biggest fan, I can't wait to start him out on his first motorcycle. My daughter loves bikes too. I have one enemy, and that's the Highway Traffic Act.

Conditions:

The temperature is -4 Celsius. It just started snowing as I got home (3:30pm). The skies were overcast and I am wearing two sweaters, long johns and a set of brass balls. I assembled the essential plastic body panels needed to ride this report. I feared if, I put this off longer, winter would hit and most folks would need to wait until spring for some CBlast ride impressions. The rear turn signals were dangling by their wires and my fins are still under construction. Mad Max here I come.

Preamble

I was running a Romans Flash, Frankenstein Power Cycles Dyno Tune (mapped to flash), and Akra Headers feeding a dual set of Yoshimura R77 carbon fiber slips. I was making 205.9 hp on that set up. Beast and I ripped and unplugged the PC 5, removed the AKRA/YOSH system and installed a full system Muzzy M-10 on a stretched TrackDynamics10 over Swing Arm. The exhaust was ordered through Predator Racing (heads were ceramic coated by Predator Racing) and Manovich Cycles provided the stretch. CBLAST flash tuned my ECU. Beast installed my full system M10 and was invaluable in the installation. He is man's best friend... Big ups and thanks to C (wizard of power), Beast (install master).

In this ride report I am running Cblast Flash, Muzzy 4-2-1 Exhaust, and one Zero Gravity Mark 1 Windscreen. NO PCV

First Impression

Holy F****!
It sounds like nothing else on the road, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It sounds like a formula one car on steroids, and it shoots flames out the exhaust - no shit, FLAMES. That M-10 matted with CBlast's flash is flawless – (I heard the M10 before without the CFlash and the M10 with CBlast Flash - big difference).

Driving
Third feels like second, and I dragged a line in 1, 2nd and 3rd. The back was worming out in each gear. I noticed a kick in the back, as I transitioned from the top of each gear, into the next. The bike, breaks forward and the front wheel wants to lift skyward in all three gears...Yes I just said all three gears...and I have a stretched bike. Fourth disappears so quickly, I forgot what happened! I think, if not for cold pavement, it has tire-shredding capabilities in first through third. My rear wheel when hooked up, lifted the front wheel, when experiencing a loss of traction spun and ate the rear wheel. It builds power aggressively. Very Very Very Aggressively. Enough to inspire yelling in the helmet. The RPM gage noticeably climbs faster than the previous set up, and when I smash whot at 11000 rpm, fifth gear engagement caused a jolt forward...kind of like a kick in the back. I'm like, “Did fifth just do that, WTF?” This flash without a doubt puts more power to the back wheel...no doubt. The rev limiter is much more subtle and almost assists the operator in finding the next gear for engagement, and smashing it open…comes with an aggressive kick when finding the next gear.

Camparo,

Compared to the old system, or the set up I ran before...One word, “obliteration.” It obliterates the old set up. It is aggressive and wants to eat everything, yet so well tuned it drives with precision. Its a scalpel, and explodes, EXPLODES with power. FLAWLESS comes to mind in the power delivery, execution of that power delivery at the top end equally flawless…

Every place I pulled in for a stop (Gas Station and Tim’s to warm hands), patrons looked to see what the F**k is that? What is making that sound coming down the road? Every car I pulled next too looked over to hear my warrior cry. And like a good hooligan, rev that engine I did. It was irresistible, the impulse to rev her while stopped to hear her sing, was uninterrupted by my lack of impulse control. I could hear it in my helmet, “Holy Great Scott”; this thing is a fire sucking, breathing dragon. I am a fling missile. It's a must ride. “Beast, get yo ass over hear for a ride!!!”

Spirited Ride

I took it on the highway and found myself ringing out sixth like a corset, the rpm’s climb so quickly you find yourself atop each gear faster than before! Be careful smashing 11500 rpm and slamming whot into sixth is not like it used to be. Sixth jostles you forward in a way the old set up never could. This is not for the faint of heart; this is a flash that is specifically engineered for the aggressive hooligan minded predator. I could see this scaring the innards out of one’s ride ethic, however, to re-emphasize my responses, it made me push harder...to speeds that will claim my license and cast me in jail! WHOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Purveyor of Destruction

I dragged a few cars off the line at the stoplight (waved them on and they revved engines to entice engagement). I destroyed an Audi and a GTI like they were standing still (this was the case before too). This bike makes power like a vortex cyclone, and I found myself backing off the accelerator to double grip and/or reset my hands to ensure I could hold on. Arm tearing torque was cool!

Comparo Part II - Building Rant

There is no comparison to the old set up. It destroyed it, decimated it, I could not help from grinning ear to ear and yelling curse words (in both languages) under the helmet. Fussomat fogom! Hungarian for "Hold on to your cock!!!" Baszd meg!

It should be noted the ‘old set up,’ built power in a very smooth and linear fashion, but truth be told it was starting to bore me. This set up. GET OUT OF HERE makes me want to trailer it to an underground garage and do burnouts all day (something I have not ruled out yet)!

Epilogue

There is no doubt in my mind this flash is the most aggressive tune, I've ridden. The weather limited my ability to explore the limits in a manner I wanted, but if this first impression startled me in the winter, when the weather warms up, I am going to be a sheer terrorizing force on Toronto Streets.

I defy anyone on here to try this flash and conclude it underwhelms. The bike feels like a completely different bike, completely new, the bike is a perfect reflection of me. Archetypically the bike and I are one.

PS:
The Mark one windscreen is flawless, at full tuck and at 290 km my helmet buffeted less than my previous SR 4 corsa style windscreen, It is a must have. A must... C you should sell one with the flash. FUZZ, it's a requirement.

PSS:
If you want to be a destroyer...grab the Mark One...If you want to sonic blast all exhausts (never heard louder in my life) Muzzy.... I am very pleased with the performance characteristics of this flash. Predator racing set off an atomic chain reaction and when partnered with an M10 Muzzy system STFU.

I am looking forward to the summer! Hooligan reports shall follow. For now Veridis sleeps and I complete Project X
Mad love to everyone...

Conclusion

Predator Racing - Holy Jaesus!

I was asked a question about the M10

Pictures do not due it justice, it’s just gorgeous. They are jewelry bits when examined closely. I defy anyone on this site to find a louder system...good luck. The head tubes are the thickness of a can of Plexis. They completely fill the lower fairing, in fact, I had to run a heat shield foil tape so to not melt the plastics. The system breaths with the flash, in a way I never thought possible, I can hear the bike suck air as I revved it: ROM rom rom, snarl, snarl, snarl. When I wind her and make her wale, there is no sound like it on Mother Earth. I am flabbergasted with the M10. It's stubby contours make my ride look like a bonafide drag bike, (which it is).

As a final point, the flash...I have no, none, ZERO, back fire or popping. It is just smooth throaty exhaust growl on decel..OH and on deceleration (once throttle is closed) I forgot to mention, there is no comparison. Before engine braking was pronounced, with the CFlash, it feels like a litre bike in the sense that the engine decel is negative, and limited, she decelerates in a subtle way.

M-10 is fling boss. It just looks the business. Once I am done with the project, I'll post it to project x and folks can ring in on her finished looks. As I mentioned, she is still under construction.

I passed a cop with the wires handing out and indicator lights dangling from the back. As he pulled next to me, he shook his head. I did a first wheel burn to our posted limit and he pulled up next to me and shook his head. I broke left and ate third down a 40km road all the while screaming in my lid.

Well, OK, copy that.

But......don't be shy now. Do you like it or what?????

BTW, that whole machine, that you and your friends built there, with the upgrades and alterations looks pretty radical!

Now with the sound effects that I can only imagine, I would have to guess that this is exactly the kind of ride my good friend Attila would ride if only he could still ride! LOL!

Cheers

I'm curious now as to just how C's flash stacks up against Brock's/Guhls.I'd have to say right here...C's surpassed the Brock's flash I had on my 2012....with a full single exhaust(CT).I had a mapped Brock's PCV on my first one...it didn't perform as strong as C's...with no PCV and Akro headers.

Awesome Wolf - glad your bike is running perfectly, and perfectly suited to your style.
In the spring we can do our testing to see how different the two flashes are.... that is if I don't end up with a hair dryer on my bike before the season starts...

Green, yes sir she feels like a bigger bike! If Kawi wanted to improve the zx14 for 2015, all they need do, is buy the rights to the CFLASH and at that level dust our friends at Suzuki!

Beast I am looking forward to the comparo shoot out too. That said we need to collect some sponsors. Maybe Muzzy or ZG can step up. All fine examples of excellent power sports organizations!!!

Me thinks tires to shred and a GoPro Black would be very helpful. A few pigeons, a gps and a emerg expense budget would help. Me thinks I need to call em!

Congrats on your ride wolf. Not gonna lie, I thought with all the posts about this phase of your build it would be more than a exhaust, flash and windshield. With all the talk I was hoping to see a turbo or at the very least nitrous.LOL just fing with you. Be careful on those cold roads up there.

Thank you fox,
She is from an engine mod stance done, however, I have a few more items to handle. Suspension, wheels. And body work is next up! Turbo possibly, if the supercharger makes it into the next gen. NOS is also on the radar for this build.

I let her unfinished self out just long enough to run the flash write up!

From the close up picture in the driveway; I would ask what tires you are running? Looks like a Pilot Road 3 up front and the rear does not look sticky/slick; that's for sure!

methinks that if my take is correct, the next upgrade should be a change in choice of rubber to diminish that breaking loose that you report.

Oh yeah, and you may not have noticed this in all the excitement; but someone has stolen your right "quarter panel" and the wiring is hanging out creating an aerodynamic drag that might just affect your top end and send you into an inadvertent right turn!

A flash is on my wish list but I am setting back the timetable for now. Post Christmas is my target to have the beast's brain branded with a new plan for unrestricted output!
