You might think me crazy, but this is my plan for my 08 ZX14 -

Either Convertibars or LSL conversion
Givi touring windshield
Either Givi PLX or SW-MOTECH sidecase frame
SW-MOTECH top box frame
Givi V35 (or traditional, not decided) side hard bags
Givi top box
New seat (undecided as of now)
Brock CT-Dual or Muzzy M14 exhaust, PC5 w/ auto-tune

and the must-have stuff like HIDs, etc.

Yeah, I shoulda bought a Concours 14, but then, when I'm done, I'll almost have a Concours 14, on stearoids.

Heh.

Yea, I bought an '06 then the next year - out comes the Concourse - but by then I'd already went with the Convertibars, Buel footpegs, and a host of power adders - now when I look at the Concourse it weighs a lot more, does have hard luggage, just about the same ergos as my 14 does now, but there would be no way I could deal with the the loss of over 50 horsepower and the addition of the extra weight. I have my 14 set up for sport touring and with an allen wrench and 2 minutes I can drop the bars back down, in 10 minutes replace the Zero Gravity touring screen with the stock screen, and remove my soft luggage ( I always keep my tank bag - they are just too handy ) and poof! instant killer sport bike.
Bottom line = glad I went with the 14, best of both worlds with a few mods - I would have to put my 14's motor in a Concourse and figger out how to drop 100 lbs off the thing to even come close.

Rook:

Go for the duals!

I have to agree, those Brocks CT-Dual titanium exhaust sytems are sick! Tuned for 08/09 ZX14s or prior years with flies out, two O2 bungs, titanium, and once ceramic coated they would be awesome.

But the Muzzy M14 makes a ton of horsepower throughout the range, and is nearly as light.

By the way, you can lift the CT-Dual in the palm of one hand, and it hardly feels like you are holding anything. $$$

Anyway, I am more and more wanting to do big distances. Not necessarily on highways, but 1,000s of miles on county roads, to go places I haven't been on a bike. As good as the RKA soft luggage is (and it IS very nice!) I think I am just going to turn my wonderful ZX14 into a 200 mph Super-Concours. Just the ability to lock two helmets inside a side- or top-case and the riding jacket as well is worth the transformation. All the time when I go on long rides with my club, I am always bumming hard bag space to put my helmet and jacket and gloves, etc. in when we get to your destination.

While I am going to add a fair amount of weight in the hard luggage and a comfortable seat, changing the exhaust, and eventually getting lighter wheels and brake rotors, etc, will go a long way to making up for it. Plus eventually its going to have 210 HP give or take a couple, so that will help too.

I might actually make it to Sturgis then. Heh
