Hey guys my black and green '11 was vandalized, someone smashed the right rear fairing and turn signal assembly with a hammer or something. The fairing is done and there is probably broken stuff inside.

My big concern is color matching on the rear fairing, which is green. Is it possible to order one in that green or do I have to get one painted? And the sticker? Money is not an issue.

I'm sure your Kawasaki dealer can get you factory-painted replacement parts for an '11. If money is no object then that's probably easier than shopping around. There are other factory parts outlets (PartZilla, KawasakiPartsHouse, and others) who show various fairing/cowling parts in the green color. The biggest concern will be ordering a pre-painted part that fit adjacent to one you are not replacing. The color may not match exactly. Then again, it may be perfect.

Anyway, it really sucks some bonehead did this to your bike.

you sound very calm, tonncinator. I think i'd want to kill somebody. the odd thing is the older my bike gets the more modded and the more ostentatious the colors get....the less I want to leave it alone. I cover mine up if I have to park it in a lot.

Saw a bunch of kids clambering over a fence toward the bike just as I came out of a store one day. That really was a wakeup call.

you can buy factory painted parts from bikebandit.com. I had to get a new tank when my ride fell over in my garage and stopped its fall on the corner of a big metal cabinet, totally trashed the tank. the new one was a perfect match. I also ordered aftermarket smoked black tail lens and they were cheaper than stock by far

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm pissed. I'm just glad the damage was superficial, if hard parts were damaged or something I'd be really smokin. Some plastic and a turn signal, could have been way worse. Hopefully I can have it back together before the roads clear up from this last system.

Hey guys, one last question, is there any benefit to ordering OEM parts from a dealership vs from Ron Ayers? Dealer markup is pretty steep. I have ordered from Ron Ayers before and I know it can take a while for delivery.
Looks like about $200 in parts from RA, $270 if I go through the dealer. Thankfully the brake light was not touched and is just the rear side tail cover and turn signal assembly which comes in a unit, so only two part numbers.

Call the dealer; hello, do you match the internet prices I come down we look the parts up on ron ears... Hello?!

But is there a point to haggling with the dealer if ron ears will provide the exact same items, that is the question.
I saw bike bandit and parts-zilla etc mentioned above, is ron ears any 'more OEM' if there is such a thing. I guess that is what I want to know.

I think I'm going to call the dealer and ask how long it will take to get this stuff in, that would make a difference.

EDIT: Screw it, I'm just going with the dealer because they can guarantee they are getting the parts directly from Mama Kaw and it should only take a week.

Factory parts can take a bit to receieve from these parts houses..but they're selling genuine stuff...so no worries there.Dealer may be the quickest...let em know you NEED em right away...maybe they'll 'blue tag' em...that would be sweet.(Two or three days time).

Did they ever catch who did it?

get you an alarm if you don't have one already, may be scare em off if they ever try it again just knowing there is gonna be some noise involved.
