Installed Banshee Horn Kit, 14r
11/19/12 9:42 AM

Installed the Banshee horn kit, 139 db along with a new hella horn..removed stock horn. Stock horn activates just touching stock horn button, 1/2 second later you get the full blast of the air horn, and the stock horn blows at the same time so you have two.

The right high beam flashes too while the horns are blowing....both hi beams are supposed to flash....but they don't, called mfg, they don't have a clue how to get them both working on the 14r.

Horn is loud and is a nice step up from stock which is junk.

Anyone else installed one?

You must show your install.....I'm interested. Not worried about the flashing lamps part...or the stock horn use....but that split horn deal looks pretty good.Trying to visualize here if that trumpet would fit where the stock horn mounts are at(minus the stock horn that is).Guess you could fab your own bracket right there...if ya needed a certain angle or something?Problem with that Steble...it's all one piece...very hard to find a good place on the ninja. These guys seemed to have nailed that.

I made a bracket out of aluminum about 7 inches long, used the forward mounting single bolt to hold it in place, put an angle on it like on the stock y shaped unit, removed stock horn, installed a HELLA electric 139 db horn which is larger in diameter.

Then put the split horn from Banshee between the forks on the upper dust cover, ran 1/4 rubber brake fluid hose from air compressor which mounted by lying it down flat on the right hand side next to right ram air duct. The horn is out of the way and has no contact with the forks, used 3 self tapping screws, it weighs nothing so is not a threat to falling off.

Works well, took some time to find the only spot on the bike and this is the only out of sight spot that blows the horn loudly and does not interfere with anything on the bike for safety or security.

Sounds like it went in there fine. Are ya happy with it?I really liked the steble I had on my 07....the Hellas are fairly loud also...but that Banshee(stebel)has definitely got the kick to it.
