Jump on the limited-access, scenic Skyline Drive in Front Royal VA for 109 miles, which runs right into the also limited-access, scenic Blue Ridge Parkway for the next 469 miles.

Fantastic riding: Curvy roads, great pavement, low traffic, limited access and great scenic mountain views.

The neg part is that Skyline Drive's max speed is 35, and the BRP's is 45 ... but it's curvy enough that 45 (+10! ) is pretty darn good in many places.

The BRP ends at Cherokee NC, then 50 more curvy miles thru Bryson City then Almond then Stecoah to Deal's Gap.

Deal's Gap - Fantastic curvy roads in 3 directions:

- East = 28 (Fontana Road) the one you (prob) came in on.

- North = 129 N the famous Tail of the Dragon.

- South = 129 S takes you right to 43-mile long Cherohala Skyway, which some feel is better than the Dragon; and since it's less known, it's less traveled.

This is the plan from our meet point in VA. Because it's slower moving may have to mix it up with some slab just to make decent time.

Yes, Yes, Yes! All on my itinerary. Cherohala is great and not much traffic as you said. Looking forward to getting back down there.

Here's a website for motorcycle routes: http://www.motorcycleroads.com/

Just click on the map on the state you're interested in. Then click on a particular route you're interested in, and it takes you to a page with a zoom of the route, the route length, a rating, directions and some feedback / opinions.

Virginia has a shit load of them. Compared to my lowly state of Florida.
