I just graduated to the head of the pack.

Hello everyone, I just purchase my 2010 ZX14R S.E. 6 days ago. Looking forward to sharing experiences with everyone here. I've been riding a fully restored 1995 ZX1109 Ninja for the past 6 yrs. I can't wait till spring. The ZX14 has been my dream bike since they first started the build in 2006.

Oh BTW. By the time I can ride this monster it will have Akrapovic Carbon slipons, PC V, Flies removed, and a TRE mod. No sense in upgrading to the Worlds fastest production motorcycle and riding it stock. What could possibly be the fun in that. lol.

Hey thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to gaining as much knowledge about my new ride as I can. I only know from my own experience that my ZX11 was the fastest machine I have ever had the pleasure of riding. I also know it does hold a candle to the ZX14. That absolutely astounds me.
BTW COOTER, I really like your avitar. Are they friends over for a sleep over? lol

Hey bigwilliezx, I like what you have done with your 10 S. E. Have you looked into the Hotbodies Undertail Kits. What do you think of them? Are they worth it?

I don't wanna spoil your enjoyment of the new bike.. but if you're wanting to remove the flies on a 2010 you have to go with a full system.
Again congrats.

Have you looked into the Hotbodies Undertail Kits. What do you think of them? Are they worth it?

They fit like poop!... But after some test fittng, trimming, and a lot of patience they look pretty good, IMO.

Bean put on a Powerbronze that looks the same, but he said fit w/o any problems.

Hello dragking, Thanks for the heads up on the flies. Please explain why this only works with a full exhaust as I don't want to do anything to hurt my dream bike. I would rather leave it stock.

Thanks again

It won't hurt your bike if you go with the slip ons and take the flies out!
My logic was that the gain from removing the flies on a 2010 are minimal, not worth the effort according to some. I concluded that people that are removing the flies on later models are looking to get the most out of the 14. So why would you bother taking the flies out if you're putting slip ons?
Also unless you can get the Akrap Slip ons at a bargain, you may just add more pesos and get their full system. I also see that you're getting a TRE so don't bother removing the flies... the TRE will take care of that.
Are you getting a custom tune?
I can picture you cuddling the bike and reading all the info about it lol
Enjoy!

Hello again. Hey Cooter Ive been walking around in a daze since I brought the ZX14 home. It's the middle of winter here in Ontario so I can't even get my maiden voyage in for another 2 1/2 months. Awesome deal buying my dream bike in the middle of winter but now all I can do is dream. Comon Spring time.

T R's E = Limp

I said, the tre is the R's electrical = We take measures to preserve the safety of the ~ No matter how you read your manual, it says, stay out or you go limp. A very simple explanation is to open to the top of the code page, look all the way down to where the 6th gear pops up in the window, it says, 'we take measure to slow your ass down. OBTW, you think you see hp gain but that is just the bottom end coming down saving top end, you need to have that wire looked at, the ecu looked at, the gps looked at until you find the... Oh there is the limp now The R's Limps R'US!
