Gauges relocated again... getting closer
11/22/09 12:34 PM

I have gone from here:

to here:

to here:

I think I am a little closer. I will probably relocate the center boost gauge to in-between the speedo and tach, on a small hinge, covering the two computer buttons.

I liked the second set up but I'm sure the way it blocked the speedo and tach was bugging you. The new set up looks good but if I were going to change it, I think I would just put two gauges on one side and one on the other. I don't see why it has to be perfectly symetrical. If you wanted to ballance it visually, you could always come up with some other small gauges to place with the side that has the single gauge.

JDC which ever way you go could you post some picks of the final layout,
Was thinking of adding a Fuel and Water temp to my bike, have trouble seeing the original led display.
will use smaller white face gauges with needles indictors rather than digital.

thanks

I wish I could post pictures here.....I made mounts for my Pro Sport analog gauges (boost and fuel pressure), I have one on each side of my ignition switch tucked in tight, I just modified the brackets that came with them....it was super easy. They fit and look great, and are completely out of the way I'm going with a Dynotune square digital gauge for the afr.

Why can't you post pics? Just open a photobucket acct. if you have not already. After photos are uploaded from your computer, you click on share button above photo. A new page comes up and you select "for bulletin boards and forums" by click/drag highlighting the code. Hit copy button up top in browser. Then go to the forum here and post. Hit the photo icon (right of the underlined U icon)and then paste the code for your photo. Seems to help to have two web browsers running at the same time--one for photobucket and one for the forum.

Rook; a lot easier way is to open you photobucket page, run your pointer over the pic, a dropdown menu pops up. One of the choices is "IMG Code". Just click on the code to highlight it, copy it, then paste it into the body of your reply. done.

That is easier. It was not working for me because I was trying to use the copy command from under Edit in my browser. You have to press Ctrl/C to copy the code.

three gauges: boost, oil and fuel pressure.

After relocating again, the boost gauge, to above the speedo/tach, I have decided to to go a different set of gauges, one dual with boost and oil pressure, and keep those two mounted on each side. I plan on using gauges that have both a needle and digital readout, looking as similar as the OEM speedo as I can find.

Will put up some pics when done. Likely after New Years.

I think this is the final setup.

Not as exacting or as easy to read as the digital, but go along better with the same look of the dash.

You might be long gone, JDC but if you're subscribed, how do you like the GlowShift gauges?

Would love to hear how you solved the oil pressure sensor location problem (if you've been there, you know what I mean).
