Dang.... that's a LOT of money spent. Looks fantastic though! Get some shots out in the sun. Are you going to make it to the April 22nd race at Bremerton. One of the s1000rr riders is spouting his mouth off saying he'll beat me. It would be cool to see you there.

I've spent a lot less than you'd think. Like you, I hunt for the deals.
I'd love to get some pics out in the sun... When is it going to make an appearance?
The 22nd, that's a Friday, I should be able to make it. Sounds like fun. You need any help finishing up your beast to make the deadline, just lemme know.

Lots of pretty, pretty parts. Going to make a big difference in how she runs and handles. Bet you can't wait!

Don't you love the color titanium turns as it ages ?

If you want to see more, I set up an album:

Test fit three different windscreens today. Pics are in the album. Feel free to let me know your opinion on which one looks best.

Oh yeah... If maintained a Ti header just keeps looking better and better... almost shoulda had to pay more for my used C/T vs. a new one.

Thanks Eric.
It's coming along... slowly but surely.

The lift is a Harbor Freight cheapo. Used the coupon in the back of Cycle World and got it for $280. Was all set to spend $1500 on a nice pnumatic, but was thumbing through CW, saw the coupon, and figured for that price WTH... I'll give it a shot. Works great with my stands. Not sure I'd trust the wheel clamp that comes with it though. I like the lift enough that I'm gonna pick up a second one. That way I can have a project on one, and still have another for doing maintenance. Much better than crawling around on the floor and hunching over.

DogoZX; Very nice! How tall is the lift when it's completely lowered?

Glad everyone seems to approve of what I've done so far. I appreciate all of the compliments.

Still waiting on a few pieces, but couldn't resist bolting everything back together tonight.

More pics are in the photobucket album too. Maybe tomorrow the sun will shine and I'll be able to pull it outside and get some better pics.

g8er,
All the way lowered, the lift platform is 6 1/2" inches off of the floor. It will raise up to 2' 6", and the pin (that keeps it from being wobbley) will lock it at a height of 2' 3" or 1' 6 3/4".

All of my lighting was purchased from Premierteknet.
The headlights are not HID's, they are 8500k Xenon Quartz.
The indicators are chrome coated 1156's, amber in the front and red in the rear. To use them I had to file one locking pin on each bulb as they did not have offset pins like the stockers. Was simple to do, and I'm very happy with the results.

Here are links to all of the lighting I used:

Low Beams

High Beams

Running Lamps

Rear Indicators (red)

Front Indicators (amber)

Did you spot the inspiration from your bike?... Here's a hint: It's front and center.

You like all the old "wall art" leftover the 90's?...lol. Shoulda set that room up a long time ago! The previous owner of my house (and shop) had set that up as a paint booth, hence all the overspray on the walls... I'd used that room to raise a litter of these guys:

Hence the thread title (and chew marks visable on the wall. lol). And I had been using that room for storage. Actually took me as long to go through all the old boxes of papers and pictures that were in there as it did for me to put the bike together.

The suspension... Well, only put fifty easy miles on the bike yesterday... but ... It'd been 4 years since I'd owned a bike with custom suspension. I used to own a 9r that had everything rebuilt by RaceTech... I'd actually almost forgotten what it felt like to truely have a machine 100% dialed in. Amazing, absolutly F*CKING AMAZING!

DogoZX; I was thinking I could leave the lift on the floor, and park my car over it. 6.5" would be very tight. By the way, atomic silver bike, in front of 3 mile island, nice touch.

Gotcha, then you also need to know that the measurements I took did not take into account the lip (another 3/4" or so) or the tiedown "U" bolts (about 1 1/2" - 2").

The nuke plant is my favorite picture spot for bikes. Check out the black and whites I posted in the "show me your bike thread"... I think the turned out bitchin'.

I'm gonna ride the piss out of it, Blue... There is no other way to ride these things.... you know that.
I'm gonna leave the lowers as they are for now, but if they get too scuffed up, draggin' through the corners, I'm thinkin' CF.

Thanks dragking, and welcome to the forum.

I used fluid tank 25 for the clutch and 27 for the brakes. I also ordered two fluid reservoir bracket-M6's. It only takes one piece of one of those brackets to mount the brake resi... but it took all the remaining pieces of that bracket, plus a second bracket, to mount the clutch resi. The flat, bar type mounts that the resis come with will have to be modified quite a bit if you want to use them.
My bar ends aren't Rizoma... from what I can tell, all of their's are for hollow bars.

BTW... I ordered from Motovation USA. They have better prices on Rizoma products than Motostrano.

thanks for the speedy reply Dogo... more?

what about the zx 10 front fender I heard that it'll keep my engine cooler (my right leg get toasted after 2 hr plus trip on hot days), and do I absolutely need a gen 3?... I ve found two 2008-09 on e bay for $99-$150 but am not sure they are gen 3. do gen3 zx 10 fenders need any mod b4 install?
