Muffler protection

Okay...I have a question here guys...in this pic,you see where the "3rd" hole is on the muffler stay...that's where the passenger peg goes.Now...anyone know of a muffler safe material that I could place on the upper part of the muffler to protect from someone's shoe sole possibly hitting that area? Not talking about a "cover"...like on the zx12 or anything.Just something that won't harm or melt on the muffler.....the peg fits nicely "on top" of the muffler body right there, but a foot resting on there could rock backward onto the surface. Thanks all for your ideas!

Privy has something you might be interested in.

Those heat shields are sick. i think I may get one for the Cannon although I don't have much trouble with touching my foot sole on it. Looks cool. Maybe it would work for you with a little modding.

Check into the Triboseat cover while you are at it.

Hmmm...nice...yup...but I'm looking for something more like a "heat shield pad"...something that will stick on,and come off later(maybe, depending on how it looks). There is NO ROOM for something raised to sit between the peg and pipe.

Not even 1/4", because the Targa shields don't take up much "vertical" space?

If you google heat shields, you will find a lot of sources of heat protection pads, sheets, etc., both textile and metallic. Not sure you will be able to find something that goes on and off as much as you want it to.
