Get new bike Thursday!

Picking up my "new" 2013 14R in Irving Tx Thursday. Already has two bros slip ons and grip heaters. Will ride it north to Wichita Falls, then into N.M. and Colorado and end up in Salt lake for a couple of days. Then on home to Seattle...anyone who wants to tag along for some of the legs...let me know!

Okay! I got the bike....promptly got pulled over on the way to Witchita Falls....over 100....but talked my way out of it. Then rode through torrential rain in west texas for 200 miles...severe T storms in N.M.....cold weather in southern Utah....then into Salt Lake....rested a couple of days. Onto Idaho....and narrowly missed a deer, thank God for ABS!!! Then home to Seattle. 2500 miles of amazing riding...on a great machine!! Pics to follow and a better trip report. Tired now :)

Here are some of the pics....dodging severe T-storms outside of Clovis N.M. Trying to find a way to get close to the awesome Rock formation in Shiprock N.M. Apparently it is a sacred area and there is no way in there on a paved road. Waiting for another severe T-storm in Bluff Utah. Final pics in Idaho south of Lewiston. Beautiful ride and a sore ass...and a great respect for my new bike. Averaged 40 mpg cruising at 85-95 mph and smooth as silk all the way!
