Maverick:
I see the picture, and that is what the KawasakiWorld.com poster (Ashley) indicates to do (cut pump open, and remove internal filter).
So, I believe this is a somewhat high pressure fuel pump for an FI system.
How did you re-seal the pump housing to assure fuel system integrity, for the life of the pump?
I have not seen the mount-up/ bolt-up for this pump in person, but all I have seen previously, for embedded fuel pumps in a tank, for FI systems, have some part of the pump on the *outside* of the tank (usually the output line).
Is this true for this bolt-up? If yes, does the cut peice of the pump (where it's been cut to get it open), is this part exposed on the tank outside?
As you can clearly read, I have some safety concerns about the whole process. I'll get a new pump before taking alot of risk with dumping fuel on a hot, sparkplug sparking, mebbe on the ground, sliding sparking, motor.
Thanks,
Bob
