Might have use for just the sides if you don't have the center pad.
BTW, I have them already. They stick great and have been on the bike for a couple years. I'm thinking about clearcoating the bike some day and I don't know if I want to reuse the old ones---though TechSpec claims they are removable and reusable. Low price, why not grab 'em?

I hear there is not a great deal of dif in the grip but the Snakeskins are thicker and more noticeable to the eye than the C3. It's a very good product. My tank is scuff free and the secure feel of grip on the tank with your leg(s) is great for hanging off and braking hard.
