getting feet off pegs????
04/06/14 7:45 AM

Hi all,

I have had my 2013 zx14r for almost 3 months now. done almost 2000klms on it and all good.

Well until today. Yesterday I bought new Arlen Ness boots and today wanted to go for a ride. the boots are a firm fit. anyway I get to end of my street and didn't have to stop to turn onto main road. then a minute up the road lights were red so I had to stop. Slowing down ready to stop I tried to move foot off lhs peg and no go. so I tried right and same. ankles wouldn't flex at all.

I had to ride through lights (lucky all were cars were at a stop) and then slowed down on side of road and rode slowly until I could lift off the pegs.

Now I ask will the boots wear in and flex or should I return them and get something different?

I had wrangler jeans and a dri-rider jacket on. have ridden all klms with jacket and at least 1200klm with jeans. Previously I have ridden with just ankle lace up boots or runners.

all advice appreciated.

You might want to think about changing footpegs, I had same problem w/ stock footpegs when I wanted to shift my feet around to setup for corners, boots seemed to "stick" to rubber on stockers. I put zx10 pegs on, much better feel to me.

Regards, John

cara, you have to drill pin hole bigger.....not sure about passenger pegs. You can always paint or powdercoat stock passenger pegs......Actually, you can buy Competition Werkes zx14 pegs cheaper than you can buy oem zx10 pegs....I probably should have done this, and they don't need bigger holes!!!

I returned the boots to the shop and bought a pair of Gianni Falco boots and there is no issue with them sticking to the pegs at all.

Still not sure if it was the rubber on boots. The sales guy said it could be and would take a couple of weeks to wear in. Or if it was how in-flexible the boots were.

Will still get new pegs for the bike. Looking at a set of the lowering ones from ebay. Anyone had any experience with them?
