Press and hold down SEL button for 2 seconds.
Use the up/down buttons to get to the CLOCK setting.
Press SEL, hour display blinks, use up/down to set hour.
Press SEL again, minute display blinks, use up/down to set minute.
Press SEL again, display stops blinking, clock starts working again.

I've tried that procedure countless times with the key on, key off, and holding the button down while turning the key to the on position. Nothing I'm doing works.

Works fine on my bike. That's the procedure in the user manual.

Maybe your SEL button contacts are dirty?

I thought about that too, but it works when toggling through power and TC modes.

Here's a short vid I made showing what I'm trying, as well as showing the button does in fact work to toggle through TC, and power modes.

Okay kind of an update, I tried the procedure on my neighbors 14R and it works no problem. Will not work on my bike, but the button itself does work. Only difference between his bike and mine is that mine has a flashed ecu and his is stock.

I think you pinpointed it. Disconnect the battery - cable and hook it back up at exactly midnight.

That looks like the only way I'll be able to solve this problem.

So, question time. Why in the world would a Woolich (the Cblast flash is Woolich based, right?) based flash disable the ability to set the bike's clock? Has anyone else who has a flashed ECU also had their clock setting ability disabled? The implications of ECU flashing just took on new meaning. :-) As for me, I like to be able to set my clock. It does come in handy.

Interesting indeed. I may pull negative battery cable tomorrow just to see if it will reset itself and start fresh. Beyond that all I can do is hook the battery up at noon or midnight.

Just a follow up. Disconnecting the negative battery cable for 24 hrs did nothing. It still retained clock memory. I guess I'm just out of luck here.

ahhhhhh--shit! It doesn't go back to 12. Well, you could look at the time it says and disconnect then hook back up when it really is that time. Man-oh-man, time travel is easier than that. Hope that works--but I'm guessing not or you would have tried??? Why that no work?

It doesn't display the time displayed before killing the power. It maintains the current time no matter what. This tells me it has some type of internal battery back up in the gauge cluster. Question is,how long does it take to loose its memory with no main battery connected. The much bigger question is why doesn't it Allow me to set it the way it was designed to be set.

RE: How to set clock?

This is a small trick you can try but maybe? When the chassis ground is connected to the neg terminal of the battery there is a complete circuit. When you disconnect the battery ground the negative or ground of the bike is floating. There is no place for any stored charge to dissipate. An old trick on cars was to completely disconnect the battery, then clamp the neg battery connection and clamp it to chassis and then connect the chassis to a good earth ground. Such as a wall plug ground or a gas or water pipe going into the earth. Some circuits take a bit of time to discharge, if you try this leave it connected for 10 min.

But, the symptoms sound like you have a component in the gage cluster gone bad to me. Recently had the gage cluster on a car go crazy and it stopped the car from running. Had to replace it with a used one to get rid of the faults.

There's a similar way I used to do that to cars and all I did was remove both terminals from the battery and touch them together. I guess I need to try that before throwing in the towel.

I have the same issue as Nastynotch here. Cblasted last winter. Trying to access the config menu doesn't work, but TC and Power can be changed. Wasn't sure what caused it, but this seems like a real possibility now...

I put 4000 mi. on my new '15 since Sept. 10, cold ride Sun. before putting her to bed for the winter...rode Sun. with ktrc off, and with the 40's air!!! Wow!! No flash for me because of tales like this, and so impressed with this bike compared to my old '11 that got rear ended! Good luck and hope you get it lined out, or at least find out for certain if the flash caused it or something else.

Update: Installed my neighbors stock ECU and I was able to access the settings page with no problem. So with my Cblasted ECU I can't access my settings page at all. There you have it folks, mystery solved.

My, my. As the lawyer types would say, that is dispositive. Nastynotch, do you think it would be possible/worthwhile for Cblast to return your ECU to its initial factory state and then you give your reflashed-reflashed ECU another shot at setting the clock? If clock setting control returns with the ECU flashed back to stock, that would suggest (to me at least) that it was something in the flashing process that flipped the wrong bit(s). Given that, and with a little (lot?) of sleuthing on Cblast's part, perhaps the errant bit flip(s) could be found and subsequently eliminated.

I've toyed with having my ECU flashed. But between the Vic Thing test results of a Cblasted ECU (no measurable performance improvement) and now this anomaly I remain a little gun shy concerning the relative merits of the whole ECU reflashing process. Then again, maybe I'm just a worry wart. :-)

I would try and reach out to Nells who actually does the tuning and dyno work - I believe the ex-cblast was just the middle man in the zx14 community? His number is around here somewhere

I don't know what I'm going to do at this point. I've sent in my ecu at least 3 times for revisions, and I'm almost certain that it has worked before with the Cblast ecu. Trying to decide if it's worth the hassle to fix this, or just swap in my buddies ecu twice a year.
