Found a new home for my 2007 Candy Plasma Blue ZX14 earlier in the month. Just got back from picking up a 2003 TL1000R with only 2440 miles. Rode it from northern California back to Dallas. Geeze, there's a HUGE difference between 120 HP V-twin and a 170 HP I-4. (I know, D'uh.)
I've always wanted a V-Twin sportbike. I'm in the midst of doing all the easy mods to the TL, one of which is removing all the vacuum operated flapper valves that cut off air box input, and doing a TRE. Between the two, the bike really feels like its being strangled until you get about 5k or so. And, it's significantly over-geared too. I hope to have all the mods done this week, but I've already got a sinking feeling that I'll be looking for another 14 soon.
