New image upload method
03/04/10 9:12 AM

Hi, all.

We've added a capability to the forum to let you upload images here and put them in your messages. This will probably be easier than uploading them to photobucket.com or some other image hosting site and linking to the images in your messages here.

There are a couple of new icons in the message editor:

The old "link to an image hosted somewhere else" icon is still there, 4th from the left.

Directly to the right of it, is a new "upload image to this site" icon. When you click it, it will let you browse your computer for an image file and upload it. After the image is uploaded, if its width is greather than the 800px width that can display in a message, it will be reduced in size to a width of 800px. So you won't have images that have the right side cropped off because they were too wide to fit.

The next icon to the right of this one (that looks like a briefcase) will show you images that you've previously uploaded to this site, in case you want to place them in a new/additional message.

Let me know if you have any questions or problems.

Enjoy... -bg

Hi, Blue.

Haven't installed the new exhaust system yet. Maybe this weekend. It's a Micron 4-into-1 titanium system. Light as a feather. I had it ceramic coated. -bg

Might want to move this post to another more appropriate category since the original post was to inform folks how to place pics in your post... Just sayin'. Cool X-rays.

To delete:

Go to the thread, find the image, 'press edit' at the lower right of the post.
1. To remove image, drag left mouse to the right and begin at the /img] so you end at [img, then release. Press delete, then repost and/or click enter to leave the remaining text, post, etc.

2. To remove the post altogether, click delete at the lower right of the post and follow clicks to remove the whole post with text and image(s).

Go to that post and click on 'edit' at the lower right. Drag the mouse over the brackets [brackets]photo I want to remove[/image brackets and that collects the photo's web location of the photo. Let go of the left mouse key, keep the courser on the blue line. Run your finger over to the 'delete' key on the keyboard. That should remove the photo, hit 'reply' and see the results.

If you are talking about deleting a pic from your photos loaded to your forum briefcase, you can't delete those. You can delete them from your posts as Hub described above but they will always be in your briefcase. Opening the briefcase and loading new ones seems to take longer as you accumulate more. That's why I started using Photobucket.

Can't do it. I asked BG and he said it can't be done. If you haven't already loaded up a hundred pics in your briefcase, I'd reserve that for pics you know you will post really often. Photobucket is 100x better for organizing a large # off photos.

I loaded several of the same pics due to the forum malfunction and said pics didn't upload but they did .
