Not sure ya want to use foam after all that intense work-it is a sweet tray!Anyway-I used some seat foam from my old ZX14 seat.Outlined the battery,cut the foam out,and measured it to fit right in there where your tray goes.Battery sits right in there snug-doesn't touch anything-can't move around-and just to be extra careful about the terminals,I slipped the stock battery cover back on there,and used a foam block to hold it on top.She aint goin nowhere.Very simple and secure,Plus,there is the added help from the motor to keep it warm while riding or sitting.(except overnight of course).
