2012 ZX14R found on a Dyno!!
10/22/11 8:15 PM

Hmm I found this on a different site but looks like a 14 don't it?? Not posting link, don't want to piss off moderators here... I like this site and frankly like the people here... No Dicks, so far at least.

Am I mistaken? or is that a 2012 ZX14R????
190+ to the rear wheel
110+ torque
Stopped before the limiter at 10K...
This was BEFORE the Kawasaki dealer show.

Sure looks like it. What's that suggest for crank output, do you think? 210-215hp?

It is too hard to guess, especially since from what I have read it was not a beat the balls off of it run... We don't even know if it was broken in. They stopped it at 10K, so who knows... Frankly I am a little disappointed but once again there are quite a few variables we do not know. My 07 made 180+HP & 108 Torque to the rear with mods, hopefully I'll get 205+ to the rear wheel with mods. LOL< if not I blew 8K+ for traction control & 4 year warranty..

Maybe Brock put the two together on the R. He was there watching the day go by. The outside activities and all that. 119 is book. 110 is 8 pounds away. If Brock never pulled cover, that '06 was book 114. If no runs were hidden with anything higher, did not Brock reach 113.5 and is that not close enough to the preset?

That says 8lbs of chase. I could give two shits about some jerkwater HP line. I want my hands to leave the grips like how I got used to the first 14 scaring the crap out of me. Now it's BS! Kawi spoiled me. Get your ass is moving with this slow ass 5 pounds of torque extra.

Put a handheld in the tool kit or put the throttle cable back on. Fair is FUcK Q!

ZX-14TR = Torque Extra!

I'm sitting 5 pounds out. I'll buy the book to stay current. Necktime.

I understand where you are coming from. Personally it's a little shy of my expectation but in all fairness let's see what a few "well known" tuners get with "production machines". The ones in Florida for the show could have been 1 off's or pre production samples.

Very simple. Take the stock R exhaust assembly, install it on first engine family/frame 14. Everything lines up? ShaDing!

This is funny....

I followed the link, I start reading the posts from the Busa crowd about the 14R and low and behold, the 14R actually has more supporters on the Busa forum than it does on this one!!!! Wierd... wierd that the "competition" (some of them - anyway) gives more respect to what Kawi has done with this new bike than some of us do here at "home".

The power upgrades and all are VERY nice...slipper clutch,Ktrc, all that....But the thing that I think that most made me happy was the styling. They changed it...yes...but again,as with the first versions,it's extremely unique....and very zx14ish.They didn't mess everything up tryin to get a completely new look. The foremans....very nice.Big.Fitting the bolder fairings. The frontend...ya....strong looking, businesslike.Yet fitting for a flagship supersport. The Lamps...nicely fitted into one set.Looks to me like that tail cowl will come off there by easily doing something underneath there on the seat pan.No more Phillips. No need anymore for a seat swap...from what it looks like they did with the foam shaping...and HOPEFULLY,the foam itself. If they used that Connie foam...she's gonna be SaWeeeet!Nice touch with the tank guard.I don't think you're gonna want to keep yer now rocketship after you ride the new one...just sayin.Your bike is totally bitchen...but I believe the ride quality and handling of this new bird is gonna knock my socks off!Hard to imagine a bike being more rideable than my zx...but this one's supposed to do just that.I think the mufflers look fine. They do fit the style of the rest of the bike.I really don't expect them to be near as heavy as the former mufflers...a 20lb weight gain....that's coming from several different areas of the bike, mainly the motor I would say..and the Ktrc/slipper clutch deal....not just the pipes.Distribute that weight around in the right places for better performance overall, and what are you gonna feel?I don't think anyone's even gonna notice any weight gain. They've reworked the trans as well...probably a tad heavier and smoother. That's cool with me.Actually,I bet the pipes are WAY lighter than those earlier ones.WAY.Bigger air filter...bigger oil capacity...oil rails. All that stuff adds up...but overall...the total package...gonna be a very nice deal...worth it I think.

I don't expect a 600 handling bike.I don't want it for that.I liked the way my bike handled. It was just fine for me.This will most likely be the LAST motorcycle I ever buy again.Probably...maybe...I'm thinkin....

Was toying with the idea of selling her off at an extreme discount to my nephew, trade it on the Duck I've been looking at, etc., but not until I can do some comparisons between the new and the old. Or I may keep the old bird to totally trick it out; paint, single side swing arm, 240 Tire/Rim, the whole 9... Haven't decided just yet. As it gets closer to my time to purchase I will make a final decision as to what to do, keep two or do one of the above... We'll see...

I got the time to take care of two bikes, no problem! Boost sounds nice - maybe later, but right now saving up the cash for the new bird! Will drop 4k into the "new bike" fund in a couple of days and start from there.... I'm pretty stoked though 190+ to the rear wheel BONE STOCK... AND not revving it all the way to redline? I don't see how some still say those are disappointing numbers - do you remember what your HP/TQ was bone stock?????

I'm still pretty impressed this engine is putting out those numbers with ALL emissions equipment intact, a built 1397 or 1441 engine is not left bone stock... I don't think that ANYONE is running a stroker motor on their bike with all of the emissions, stock mapping, etc. left intact, so that's nowhere near an equal comparison or even valid expectations... I'm pretty sure there's more to be had with mods put on the bike and it mapped and tuned properly... Remember this engine is meant to operate this way for years and 1000k's of miles, with crappy gas, and sometimes even crappy care from owners and still be run reliably. Pretty damn good IMO.

True, but so was the current 14 and it was rated at 200 crank hp. New, 210hp really ?

7-10 Hp increase increase in crank hp for 15-16 thousand ? Ya, I Want more. I still believe #'s to be false. Maybe like BMW, 1000 Kilo in and wake up in ECU. Something. Going to be Awesome of that there is no doubt.

I'm still all in but in no Hurry Now.

OK, got a little more info from reading one of CNC/Brock/RG's post on another site... lots of shit to read through. It turns out that the bike on the Dyno is NOT a production model... So at this point we do not know what the production models are going to actually have in the USA. Here is the link if you're interested.... It could have been a sample that is representative of what we are getting but it is not a "production" piece.

Hmm... Actually, I don't know of too many who claim bone stock 180+ at the rear wheel... And those that do make me wonder... did your's dyno that high in stock trim? Did you verify with a nother run on a different dyno? As far as the "real" numbers - time will tell. They will hit the showrooms soon and we will get to hear from real riders whom we know and "trust"

And besides, you know how corked up the First Gen bikes were, but with a little re-programming look what they did... Maybe holding out until they see what Suzi brings to the table... Who knows?
