Q2 update
09/20/10 9:37 AM

Alright I now have 1000 miles on these new Q2's, went for a good mountain run yeasterday and hit some of the favorite back roads. These tires are excellent really railed yesterday 2 up and still didn't get all the tire used up. I guess a little more speed is in order but the speeds we were running yesterday is pretty much the upper limits of street speeds. The grip is great with good feel and feedback and so far the wear looks good on them, now it's just a wait and see game on the final mileage verdict. I hope to get 3000 out of the rear if thats the case then this will be my new tire.

The Dunlop test track is literally across the street from where I work here in Madison, AL. I go outside every so often just to hear that guy wind up around the track. Gotta be a liter bike or smaller the way those RPM's are goin'. If it weren't for the amount of miles, I'd run Dunlops primarily, but I'll say I'm quite impressed with these Michelin Pilot Road 2's and hope I see at least 8k on 'em before I have to worry about replacing them.

Loaded, I was always a dunlop man myself until i tried the pilot powers on my old rc51. I was sold. Replacing my stockers which are toast after 2500 miles with the road 2"s. I'm hoping for good street grip with more mileage, I do alot of riding in the twisty's so I was hesitent to pull the trigger, but It would be nice to get more than one riding season in on a set of tires!

I liked the road 2's also, but the grip and cornering in these Q2's is great. They hold a line perfect and even coming on the throttle hard exiting they just bite. The grip is better with a larger contact patch at full lean, the Q2's are a little bit harder to spin up coming out of corners. I doubt I'll get the same mileage as the road's but I'll have to wait and see. I've never been a fan of dunlop tires in the past but as they say "These aren't your dad's dunlops". : )
