Wolfman, I totally agree with your statement:

"I am just mildly suggesting that there are places and times when one can have a little fun and mimimize (paradox) some risk."

I'm sure we all have a favorite spot to hit 186.

I usually remind myself before I get on the bike that I have two kids and I could die just to reaffirm the care and attention it will take to arrive back home alive

I got cut oof by an unmarked car racing down an interstate entrance ramp last weekend. Both of my girls were with me. The cop calculated trhat he would be able to make it. Fortunately for us, he had good judgement and I didn't decide to suddenly accelerate OR pull onto the shoulder. the ass came within 5' of the right front 1/4 panel. I was doing 70. He had to have been doing at least 90 because I never saw him until he was in front of me. I would never take such a chance on my bike but this guy felt it was important enough to catch trhe speeder that I saw he had pulled over a quarter mile up the road. The greatest irony, this is within a few miles of the place where I got my 101 mph not near other traffic speeding ticket a few years back. All I could do was honk as I passed. I wish I at least causght it on film so I could Youtube the a-hole.

Rook, in reference to Asshole, it is one thing to make a choice to put yourself at risk, but it is entirely another to endanger an innocent operator. I have a neighbour who rides like the asshole. I've stopped riding with him, even when I do ride with him, I just let him go. I'm 40 he is 28, I've tried talking to him about it, but it falls on deaf ears. Why is it some folks are starting to understand that alcohol and driving don't mix, yet asshole holliganism on busy roads is equally a negative combination. Rook, his time will come, let's hope there is just one cassualty.

I like to push hard, and I like to let the beast out a bit too, but I go out when I can be alone and watch the streetlights vortex by. Sometimes when I can't handle it, I just hit the track. Your experience is awesome, the operator is an asshole. They both start with the letter A and end with the letter E.

Oh forgot to mention here, I have very little respect for the five-o. On one hand they lecture us about road going safety, they pull over our bikes, yet they are some of the worst drivers. I've got an asshole cop that lives around the corner that hates. He's the unmarked who pulled me over and then arrived to my driveway with an intent to arrest me. Some of them (not all) are assholes. Wish you got a cam of it!

Peace

...yeah, and I had a similar event happen to me and my kids last year...worse. I turned looked over my shoulder, looked in the rear view and put my blinker on to change lanes. as I was about to stear into the left lane a cop flew by me in the left lane. He was going so fast, he was not there when I looked and then he was as I was about to get killed by him. He might have seen my blinker between the half second that it blinks off and then on but he was goping so fast, there was nothing he could have done to avoid hitting me. I thank God he didn't come barreling up behind us a half second later. It seems very likely there would have been some dead people. A mile up the road, some emergency vehicles were turning around and heading away. Seemed as though there had been some sort of crash. Not too serious, I wouldn't think. If that cop was heading there that fast it must have happened a short time ago. No fluids on the road. No road block. I bet we would have died for a fairly low level emergency. hole!

Rook, you see that video of the Sheriff rear ending a poor mug and then trying to turn it around as if to make it like, it's the motorcyclists fault. Your story and this one, makes me want to mount a GoPro camera on my helmut full time brotha!
Sheesh!

Me too. You know, the two incidences I mentioned here are the closest and most dangerous calls I have had with other traffic in the past two years. By far. Both would have been deadly to us and the cop.

Hey Rook,
You're right, when a fatality results from a stupid action, it's unfortunate. I hear what you're saying...I wish sometimes, the Ahole, would befall some kind of consequence beyond being the subject of this thread. In the end though, getting caught up in this type of navel gazing is a good outlet to vent one's frustration.

And MadDevil, there is a great section called Cops and Crashes, near the bottom, that has brought me great enjoyment. I'll bring the suds, you bring the corn and we can meet there!

PEACE

Man what a mess. Hey if you just have to go fast, real fast, go to the track. I've always said, Going fast on
the track is a test of your skill. Going fast on the street is a test of your NERVE.

Peace guys

Couple of things:

1st: Build that that bike. 500-600hp will be more than enough to run with the big boys and put up some insane top end speeds. Do it.

2nd: Running from the cops is easy. I don't try to do it, but a few of my buddies make habits of it. They have yet to get busted (for running anyways, they have gotten other tickets). That said, you can definitely get unlucky some time and get caught or crash & burn.

3rd: Toronto/OPP doesn't give you a $10 000 fine for 50km over, rather a judge assesses the fine, and it can be UP TO $10 000, but it can very well be "only" $1000. Street racing they take the bike/car and crush it. Here in Montreal they double the fines and points for 50km over so that the minimum is $900 or so and 9 points (out of 15 max). That's why a lot of guys run.

So you gonna punch the motor or can you get that much power off boost and fuel, thats like 300 more than a stock motor, curious as hell. Since you tig are you gonna build your own header and exhaust?

I think a big turbo will do that but it will cost as much as a new bike.

I dream of running away from the cops and not getting caught but if there is a helicopter involved like there was with TRC, there is no way anyone will get away unless they have a flying bike! They can see from too far away. May be easier to blend in at night but that would take some balls to run with a searchlight on you and it might be pretty hard to see the road with a zillion watt lamp beaming down on you. Some day when I am old and don't care about my driving record........ hopefully i still have the stones when I get to that age.

Turbo kits:

Helicopter already scrambled? Ya, you're screwed. But if you're running you don't want to keep up a chase for a long time, you wanna get some distance and take a few turns, then park the bike behind something and get the hell off of it!
