Feedback on Conti Road Attacks
08/19/09 8:19 PM

I've had the chance to put some miles on my Conti Road Attacks...thought I would share the info. They handle and stick awesome. I love the way they sharpened up my busa's handling and made it feel much lighter on its feet...made a big diff there. And the price is also very nice. I think they actually stick a little better than the Avon storm rear on my 14. Buuut, like all good things, their is a downside. They're wearing out pretty quick. From a guesstimation I'd think they might last half/2 thirds as long as the storm. The last rear Bridgestone full on sport tire on the busa went 2400 miles....I don't see the Conti's making it too much further. So even tho I love the feel, I'm more than likely going to be staying with the Storms or Pilot Road 2's. The funny thing is the Conti RA's are supposed to be a sport-touring tire designed to compete directly with the storms and road 2's..yet they feel and wear like a full on sport tire
For a sport-touring tire, I give them an
A+ for stick/handling
C- for wear
A for value

I tried the Road Attacks and thought they wore out pretty quickly as well. Switched to BT-016's because of the poll results and other feedback here, and like them better, I think. Certainly as good for stickiness and seem to be wearing better. -bg

Thanks for the info on the road attacks - that was a tire I am considering next time.

I'm currntly running the BT-016s with about 1000 miles on them. The center of the rear has started to flatspot some (as usual), but these things stick like glue. I really like them - a lot.

++1 on the BT-016. 1,000 miles on mine and not looking too bad for ware at all. The added grip lets me corner harder with confidence and that seems to have kept my tire from squaring off.

Next set of tires might be Storms for overall riding conditions and touring, though.

I ditched my stock Bridgejunks after about 4500km. We had a long trip planned and their way no way they would have lasted another 1000km...nevermind the 5000 we were planning on riding.

I put a pair of Road Attacks on, and couldn't be happier. I have around 6500km on them now and they look great sill. Like I said, we put about 5000km on the trip alone, the bike was packed with me and about 100 pounds of luggage and junk. We rode mainly twisty mountain type roads, with a few days of Montana I-90 thrown in for sheets and giggles. My wife installed a set of Road Attacks on her VFR800 and has been very pleased as well.

I wouldn't hesitate to order another pair when these finally bite the dust.

I'm amazed at the mileage that some of you get out of these tires...

I currently have around 5,500 miles on my 14 and I've roughly put 1,000 miles on the 3rd set of tires.

A for looking cool

IMHO. That tread is wicked. Storms look very nice as well.

I only got 2500 out f the road attacks. Went to the road 2's and get 3500 to 4000 with just as good grip. The road attacks are priced right but I make up the difference in less mounting cost.
