Swaping M4 for Scorpion
06/29/12 12:05 PM

My '09 14 currently is running Scorpion Slip ons and a PC5 that was mapped at the dealership. I'm thinking of swapping the Scorpions for a pair of M4 slip ons. The sound of the M4 that I put on my Wife's 09 ZX-6r is the motivation.
Question...
Will the swap be enough that I will need remapping, or do you think that the mapping for BOTH after market pipes will be close enough that I can get by ?

I would try it as-is and see if the pipe swap had any effect good or bad before trying another map. You can always do that if there's any flat spots or anything negative.

That's what I was figuring. I know when I went from the stock exhaust to the Scorpions the need for the PC5 was clearly evident. But I'm thinking that I might get by, going from a Low restriction aftermarket slip on, to another "lower" restriction Slip on. If not, I'll take it to the dealership and get it mapped. I've never done that before myself.
The sound of the M4 that I just put on my Wife's 09 Monster ZX-6R is awesome. I'm not sure though, that the M4's on the 14 might be a little too much. I'm not worried about getting stopped(professional courtesy), but on long hauls, ear plugs might be needed..

Hey Night, I've got the M4's on my '11 without a pc and runs better than stock. As far as sound, you'll love it! Pretty loud but not unbearable with earbuds n music ;) I have the optional quiet inserts when I need a break or wanna be I stealth mode lol. But prefer the no baffle, deep, low, Indy Car sound!

Thanks MAD. My minds made up now. Ordering them tomorrow. After all, I can't have the "Mrs." bike sounding better than mine :)
