Lowering pegs
02/01/12 4:59 PM

I don't have a 14 yet but I do plan to sport tour on one.

These pegs lower 1.5" and go out 3/4" Obviously I'd remove the feelers and even grind them down to get back that 3/4" they stick out. Even then would, they drag easily?

some people claim they drag a peg with stock setup. I never did even with the scraper pegs on. my exhaust dragged on the right but never a peg.

I'm about 230 suited. I think if you are heavier, you will be more likely to scrape if you take the 14 to cornering extremes. I doubt if you will have any problems as long as you have hinged pegs like the stockers...and as long as you can make the corner! LOL

No offense Rook.

I modded my 14 for touring.

Do some reading on the Corbin peg kit. Some folks have had some issues. I did.

As a replacement, I initially went with the Buell pegs. Very nice placement, but because of the thin width of the peg my heel would hook and sometimes made shifting difficult.

I ended up getting these, not as pretty as the Buells, but a bolt on, no drilling or grinding.

Drop right on the ZX-14.

Touch them from time to time, but that's fun for me.

Good luck with your choice.

None of the previous year peg plate kits from Corbin will work on the 2012. Fit on the left side but will not go on the right side. The Buel fat black pegs will work but they come less than 4mm from hitting the exhaust guard. I am using them with no problems but the narrower silver ones might work with more clearance.
