Good to hear GRN.
Would have been a loss to you if you let the big girl go and a loss to us if you weren't involved in 14R discussions...

Just picked her up...feels like good old friends again.Just couldn't let her go;)
Good move Grn, I didn't think that H2 would replace the 14R. I was out hammering the twisties this evening on my old 14, man what a bike, it pretty much can do it all.

Yep...sweet ride for sure. But really, nothing like my H2...seriously.This thing is just 'out there';)The way she powers up and shifts and handles...just amazing really. Now that I've done some seat modding to her....and adjusted the suspension some, incredible.Won't be riding my 14 much,I can tell ya that...but she's good to have in case I choose something a tad more cadillac. Not that my H2 doesn't ride like a caddy....but it's different...that's all...just different.

H2 is the scalpel of track bikes.
Not the best analogy there Wolf, H2 is a good handling machine for what it is but I would hesitate to describe it as a "track scalpel", that's not really it's forte, too much weight, too many compromises to excel in that area.
I'm waiting to see if it can beat the BMW S1000RR in a straight line, I've seen a few Youtube vids but inconclusive so far, depends more on the rider and the mods.

I wouldn't say 'scalpel' either.Guys who've ridden her on the track are impressed with the acceleration and all,but not so keen on her ability to transition.Handling is great, but like Kruz says...the weight. It's another 'niche' bike from Kawasaki.Pretty much just to show the others what Mama Kaw is capable of.It IS a great street bike however.Very nice.
And yes...it can and does beat the Beemer.

The BMW easily wins the first pull, they look close on the second. I was hoping the H2 was going to be dominant, at least in a straight line over the faster literbikes but not seeing it so far. It looks like it needs flashing and exhaust mods/tuning to get there. This is a head scratcher for me, should be quicker out of the box with that blower on there. Hub, what's your take on all this?

That's obviously a guy who hasn't done the Somefun mods and I don't know why he gave the beemer the advantage of rolling up on him from behind a few mph faster just as the race started. They should be starting side by side at the same speed. If a modded H2 with +45 hp doesn't stomp all over that beemer, Grn, you're just going to have to buy an s1000.

Well Grn, you've got your bases covered pretty good now that you have the 14R back, something for every type of ride. Now just need a naked bike like the KTM 1290 to complete the stable.

They looked dead even on second pull, H2 popped a wheelie on the first pull and blew his drive. I'd like to see the H2 go head to head with the literbikes stock for stock.

14r is the hot rod of sport bikes.
H2 is the scalpel of track bikes.
If I was in market for a new bike I'd probably go with the 14R and use the left over bucks for mods. 14R seems to be the King Daddy due to the extra cubes.
Now if they ever supercharge the 14R, look out!

I dunno, went back and looked at that again and they seemed to be close when they rolled into it. I'd call that last pull dead even but I was expecting more from a supercharged machine. Somefun will need to run his modded H2 against some similarly modded S1000RRs and post the vids.

"Look what we can do" but we will produce the bike so the gentleman's agreement is in compliance... i.e., detuned.
I still want to see if that blade is detuned on the H2 where the R has the centrifugal [blade withing a blade] style of double blades, whereas the street model has the single pump blades; I've seen in those cutout engines.
You'd have to find the R map is different than the street map ECU, flash the H with the R mapping and that's part of the tune. The blade/gearbox combo is a few teeth off and that spin is not running 130,000 rpm but more like 100,000 rpm and this also would detune the bike. I'd have to see the piston part numbers and if both are the same part, no compression change. I'd have to see the cam part numbers and if those are different then so is the profile.
Looks like the same 2006 kind of move with the subthrottle lag, and here we have a neutered SC vs its brother. The corporate mentality...'what will we sell next year is the same platform but more HP.' Same long in the tooth 14 and 14R is produce the faster model down the road. It sure is not about to sell less HP next year or they'll sit on the dealer floor.
