I was out putting the finishing break-in miles on the R today and got caught in a thunderstorm; so I stopped in at my dealer's place, which was nearby.

While there I talked to the owner of the shop and he told me that he had sold two greens, a blue (mine), and two blacks to date. He had a customer who wanted another green one and he had to tell him that they are going for a premium, now that they are out of the shipping pipeline. I believe he said the customer paid the premium. My dealer has a black and a blue on the floor, recent arrivals, and two blacks promised from Kawi after some negotiation. He said he was fortunate to get them to commit to two more. This dealer is selling them out and Kawi can't keep him supplied?

So if this is the state of the supply from the factory, those of you still wanting a green one may find you are out of luck or going to have to pay extra! Those of you hesitating to lay down the cash for any color may find black is all you can order in the near future.

I don't personally know, of course, but it seems like the bike is a huge sales success in the US and I'm only just beginning to see commercials on the telly in the Chicago market.

Better buy a disc lock or two, LOL, if you plan to park it in Chicago. decisions, decisions

sorry but not true... i was at two different dealers today and one had a green model and the other place had two greens and they were all on sale... at a discount..second time on here that somebody has reported this informations.

the dealer with the two green ones.... was where my bike i have now was purchased.... so the trade was 100% cleaned and ready for a offer... but the place had no black or blue ones coming.

so i had a coupon for free 10 dollars so i picked up a factory oil filter for 2 dollars... he did have a 2011 white busa with gray grafics which i liked.... for 12,100 so i waited about 20 mins for a offer on my trade ....bought a soda a went to the service dept for a inspection and offer on trade but the place was so busy i had to leave after 20 mins and get home.

so tommorow i need to vist 2 more dealers that i know have blue models in stock and one place has a black one..... i think another day of the temp being 20/25 degrees higher then normal.... great day for another ride!

I got the same story from my dealer when I picked up my SE yesterday. He tried to order 3 more SE's from Kawasaki - NG. The Green is supposedly sold out for the year, other than what is currently in the pipeline. The flakes in the paint really pop in the sun light.

Local dlr with two on the floor and no demand may well be motivated to move the units asap. That doesn't change the bigger picture nationally. There is a limit to how far a buyer will travel; may well be, if the production is ended, that dlr will ship to dlr where market for that model is hot.

Can't everyone like that flamin' green one so much; no offense guys, but it would be my last choice, LOL!

That place looks like Kings Motorcycle in Utica Ave. I used to work there in the early 80's when Mike was the owner.

A few days ago I was at Philly Cycle Center in Philadelphia and they have two green ones.

Lol, I knew it looked familiar. I worked with them (at their Utica Ave. location) from 1983/85 before moving to Arizona to attend Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. I had a great time helping their racing crew at Bridgehampton and Pocono Raceway. Those were great times.

Green With Envy

I bought my green one about 1 1/2 months ago. My dealer then sold his two and had to get mine from a dealer 200 miles away. I spoke to him 2 weeks ago and he has a waiting list for the green and can't get them. I'm glad I jumped on mine when I did.

My dealer has a Blue and a Green one on the floor and is getting one more of each color...

I stopped by my dealer today. He did confirm 100% that the green se is done. He got 4 in total among 3 stores and he has 1 left and is getting no more. He said he has had a bunch of dealers calling to get it, but he is selling it at MSRP.

I'd just ask what the local shop will charge to repaint if color is that important. Bet you can get a deal for $300.

Now come to think of it, I did pay 1000 more for my 08 B/O busa. It was the last one that could be found. Sorta cool...I guess it was worth it.

I love my Green SE...but I gotta say...the Black and Blue ones are quite beautiful as well!The green is a 'bit' standoutish...but...it IS different...so...I'm happy with mine.Only problem now....there are NO Green sportbikes here where I go and ride.So.....any speeding and such....someone calling in a Green Motorcycle...guess what?Ya...you guessed it.I pretty much behave when cruising where people are living back off the road here.Plenty of places to open er up so no big deal.My CT isn't quite as loud as I first thought.Cruising along...I noticed yesterday I 'didn't notice'the pipe sound.That's good in my book.Nothing like having the world's fastest production bike in BLAZONED GREEN with a CT SINGLE screamin...."just try and stop me!!!!" I am getting used to the muffler sound though...it seemed kinda sharp at first...but now....it's very nice...not obnoxious.Growley.But reserved(somewhat).

Not sure how true the Green shortage is in my neck of the woods - did a quick Cycle Trader search and pulled up 14 green ones out of 43 adds... Mostly all within 2.5 hrs from my house... And no huge premiums either, just the normal $200 over the "normal" ones.
