DELKEVIC mufflers
05/21/14 11:57 AM

Has anyone purchased DELKEVIC slip on mufflers. They have several sets in 13", 14" 17" and 18". Both stainless and carbon cans...and they're CHEAP. They look well made and the baffles come out. I'm interested in a set of the 17" tri-ovals in stainless. Mostly for more noise, to be honest. Anyone?

I have the s.s 18" oval cans. even with the baffles out they were pretty mellow. I did cut them down to 14" and powder coated black. If your not interested in making more horsepower and just want a basic slip on they are fine. the quality is on par with any exhaust I ever had. but if I had to compare them I would say they remind mr of an older yoshimura zyclone system from the 90's. you will notice just a little more mid range and response. nothing to brag about.btw. since I cut them down the sound is much deeper but not what anyone would call loud.

get some exhaust tips for a car and have them welded to fit if necessary. Cheap, great sound and lightweight.

I know a guy in Arizona who has Delkevic slip-ons on his ZX-14 and he seems satisfied with them. They look pretty good, too.

I've got the 17" oval carbon cans on mine......I like them. I cut them down 2" this past winter and painted them satin black, they sound and look better. Oh yeah, I made my own custom baffles also. (Yosh style) For the money, it's like a sore dick, you can't beat it!!! FYI...if you remove the baffle, you will need to plug the baffle screw hole...otherwise you'll have a whistle.

Delkevic mufflers with the Baffle-in has a Decimal reading of 80 meeting the DOT & Factory sound level. Take the Baffle out and the Decimal raises to 94. I was getting a whistle sound and I reinstalled the baffle bolts.
Delkevic welds a center stand stop on their mid pipe.
I have the 18" Carbon mufflers. If I had a pre 2012 ZX14 I would do a shorter muffler because the collector has a Catalytic Converter reducing noise.
