Photo Shoot (new upgrades)
05/14/09 12:22 PM

Just finished my recent mods.

They include:

-Leo Vince full, had all the tubes double ceramic coated (I live 2 miles out on a dirt road, figured this would help protect them). System came with a db killer which I promptly removed. Amazingly, even without it I think it's quieter than the 2 Bros S/O I took off. Went for a ride with my son (R6), and he verified it (he's always behind me, until we hit the twisties).

-ZX10 front fender with a fenda extenda added (for the same reason as above).

-16/43 gearing (WOW). I used a Zepher front and Driven rear. I am getting some whine. I believe it's do to the mismatch between the new sprockets and old chain (which your not supposed to do). I'm sure I'll prematurely wear both the sprockets and chain, but I'll just get the whole set next time.

-BT016's using a 190/55 rear. I had to remove my rear hugger because of clearance issues. I guess the combination of the gearing and taller tire, but I thought I would have had more chain stretch @ 7K miles.

-Blue LED running lights (bling)

-T-Rex front and rear stands. Not a mod, but the sure did make working on the bike a lot easier. Both stands fit and worked perfect. I was even able to put it up on both stands myself, on the dirt floor of my garage.

Looking good Chris!!! With the header turning out as nice as it did, it's almost a shame to put the bottom cowling on. You'll love the thermal coating even more when the weather get's hot.

Thanks Phil. Thanks Romans.
The engine is running incredibly cool, too cool?

This was after a 145 mi ride with an average speed of 65 & a couple to blasts to 170.
She looks like she's running a little rich!?

Romans, I'm running a similar setup to yours (Ivan's stuff). Did you have to tweak the map for your Akro at all?
The only thing I'm not using, is the Ignition Mod. Did you see significant gains with the IM.

That is a fine looking pipe Junkie, I almost bought the LV before the Muzzy, I have always liked Leo Vince, it was what i had on the cbr..

But I did not like how low the headpipe hung below the bottom of the fairing on the ZX14...

Did you have to shim or trim the fairings to get it to fit? and does it drag on speed bumps??

1minerman - No clearance issues with the fairings. So far, so good...haven't bottomed on anything. I am very careful after hitting my stock header coming up my field stone sidewalk...I had been riding my CR250 earlier that day and didn't even consider ground clearance

blue07 - I never was a cat person...till I met Alex. We kidnapped (catnapped?...that doesn't look right either) him from our neighbors when we moved 13 years ago. They never feed or watered him, so he was always at our house anyway. He turned out to be 1 of the best pets I have ever had. More like a dog, he hangs with me all the time. And at about 15 yrs old, he still does a great job keeping the rodent population in check around the house.

To be honest, it's a little funky sounding at idle. But other that that, I like it. It's quieter than the 2Bros slip-ons I had before.
I'll try to get a sound clip up.

I believe I still have it.
