Make sure the burned out black box does not have some funny heat sink tying all the grounds together. These are called 'waterproof joint connectors.' On the dissection, if it is just a water tight seal and not hardware as mentioned, leave it alone. Let the air hit it bare. This way you can keep an eye on it. Also, each joint has their own ground junction points. Some can be seen in the main harness so you look for a flat square kind of protrusion. They lay the grounds flat across that square receiver, flap over the locking tab for all wires and start taping the square into the harness. You can see it stick out sometimes. Lots of ground locations on the computer bike.

And too, if you think about it, those grounds are joint specific. WATTie mean by that is, see how it's not running the engine? Can't tie those in with a sensor's ground or you code the bike, if say we used this burned pack of grounds for just one sensor, imagine. Get it?

Got it. H/L comes on, look for nose joint heat wrinkle. But say you replaced the v/r. That was E traveling to its shortest path. AC in, surface over to heavy ground wire , oops there it is, oops every single AC sweep making heat; none to battery, but to joint thru blk/y-heavy.

In volt mode you should see the dash spike way past 14.7v if the v/r takesashit. BTW, ideal peak volts, IMO. Because I've never seen it go higher. I'm 14.6v when riding a cold engine warming it up first. So I had fun hitting a brick wall on the diagnosis. The walk-thru just stopped me cold not finding any wrinkled hot wires at yellow, and heavies. Well, at one end at least. That's why you couldn't find a fuse blow? Why? Ground does not short, right?

I'm going to put my foot in the ocean of variables and guess; takes a ground to keep the h/light offandango. We had none. Takes yellow to complete a path to ground, why it stopped I can only guess. Takes blk/y-heavy to complete a circuit to >>> Ground. There was some... it ran. Ohm's is handcuffed to E's balance of equals. If amps are a load [out of the battery], then ground equally sends that load back to ground = Can't separate the HEAT.

A junction point is at the top rear frame section of this joint location. Flat tab in wire harness is pass the joint over here. So it looks to me like someone bogarted this joint, my friend. Fucking V/R!
