Where is the rear chain adjustment? Is it withing range or out of range? A sloppy chain will do it as one variable. Check and report.

mine has always felt a little rough from 2nd to 3rd but I only notice above 6K rpm. It's been that way as long as I can remember. I live with it.

You've got to be honest or we go nowhere in the 'diagnose direction.'

1. Do you shift without the clutch from 2nd to 3rd at these higher rpms?
2. Do you use the clutch for these speed shifts and are they ever missed shifts, you hit the rpm limiter and hear a bunch of transmission noise/bangs/grinds/finally pops in gear/has to be helped with foot?
3. Do you abuse the bike (it was built for) as if running down the track is going to be abusive we do not hit the limiter all the time.

Spill THE beans.

Refresh my memory: what is the 14R's chain slack specified as per the shop manual?

14 = 32 ~ 38 mm (1.3 ~ 1.5 in.)
14R = 25 ~ 30 mm (1.0 ~ 1.2 in.)

I keep mine at 1.5" not pulling too tight on the chain...maybe about 3 lbs pressure...measuer the pull on the top run and the bottom and add together. Proper chain tension DOES make a difference with shifting but to me, sounds like The TX has a concern that is in the gearbox. I'd say run it until it actually does something wrong, before you fix it. If its just a pop you feel and there's no other problem, it's nothing to worry about. Change oil, adjust the chain and go ride.

WOT is the very first part to remove if it is the chain or a bent fork? The cotter pin.
How simple is the move of that cotter pin? A) My missed shifts. B) I still miss shifts with a slack still within spec. C) Silence is to assume (make me the ass in assume for assuming) you did miss a lot of shifts. Then push the wheel forward so there is a lot of slack in the chain to slip over the sprocket and pull engine.

Only your cotter pin knows for sure.

Hi hammer my foot like lots and lots

I think I better go on line and ask if I hurthengine

I misseconday lot and what might that be I answered my own q

All I can do is see how you proof the bullet; if pudding and all that I asked about beating around the bush; or just spit it out like daddy come to papa; the week's check is going to be fat.

Those posts were within a few if not less than an hour between the final blow under the belt. If that didn't bleed abuse, I don't know what does?

Here's year no goodeed goes the cotter pin internet answer. Smell the oil fill cap hole. Smell like burnt fork? It has a distinct metal fragrance to it...
