Hey guys, newbie (to this forum) here.
I'm looking to pick up a used Zx-14. I saw a 2007 in mint condition but it had 1400 miles on it!
I'm thinking, that's a lot of sitting around. The paperwork is legit, but I'm checking out the bike next week.
What would you be suspicious of?
If they're OEM tires, they might need to go.
How long has that oil been sitting in that mil, etc.? I'm almost more worried about it than if it had 30k miles.

Had One like that in my neighborhood. All of the miles were created at the Drag Strip. 1/4 mile at a time. Good Luck

I have ben wondering about "too few miles" as well. I came across a 2008 concours with 7 miles on it. The bike was delivered to the guys home with 6 miles in 2008, he drove it in his neighborhood, and that was it for 4 years. Last week, he replaced the battery, and his key fob battery, and it started right up. I told him to change all the fluids, and things should be fine. I did take it for a trip around the block, and I must say, it felt good.

My Silver 08 has 49000+ miles and my Green 2012 just turned 4208 yesterday. The OEM tires should last at least 4000 miles, that might tell you something of how it was initially treated. At minimum I would change oil and oil filter. Check the OEM air filter and see what it looks like. I would wonder if the break-in oil was even changed. If it was not you would know from looking at it and it will have sulfur stink to it. That would be a bad thing. Was the bike registered all of that time? The thing must be only nearly broken in.
