Question for double stackers
07/29/16 9:05 PM

I just installed Heli risers with GenMars stacked on top. The left bar set is solid, but I feel some movement in the right bar set. Not a lot of flex, but enough to make me a little uneasy. I secured them with 80 mm bolts sources from Fastenal.

Any advice?

Lee

You have slack somewhere. Start looking.

I'll pull it apart this afternoon.

Also, did you bend the front brake reservoir bracket or purchase an adjustable one? The clutch reservoir clears the fairing and windscreen, but there's no way the brake one will.

Thanks!!!

I just bent the brake res. bracket , no problems at full turn but it is very close.
I used 90mm stainless bolts.
Make sure everything is solid before riding !

To my surprise, both reservoirs clear the fairing and windscreen. The brake reservoir misses by about 2mm...??

Everything feels solid now that I've reseated everything before bolting it up.

I used 2 GenMar spacers per side for 3.5 years. Flipped the Throttle cables, released the front Brake line and made new brackets for the Reservoirs. I added Zero Gravity Touring shield for more protection.
If I had long arms this setup would be enough, but I'm shrinking as I age. Convertibars now.

When you say flipped the throttle cables - do you mean took them off and swapped the cables? What about brake and clutch lines? I'm going to try one spacer first, but coming off a handlebar naked bike, might need two for commuting.

All I did with my throttle cables was to loosen them and flip them 180 degrees so the cables are on the bottom of the handlebars, not the top.

I flipped the throttle cable housing, drilled a new hole for the pin. Released the brake line from the triple tree.
Made new brackets for the reservoirs.
