Well, maybe I am the only one, but I am pretty excited about that SE. It's basically exactly what I was asking for. Upgraded brakes with Steel lines. Like the paint also. Just need to get me one, put a full titanium brocks exhaust on it(with PC5 and Guhl ECU flash), set of gold carrozzera wheels, and I will have my perfect bike. Just got to wait for there to be some "leftovers" that some dealer wants to discount down to about 10.5k. About 1 year from now, that beast will be mine!

2016 SE is $15,499. For somebody who doesn't already have a ZX14R, $500 for the upgrade from base model is a great deal.
For current owners, you can buy a pair of Brembo M50 Monoblocs for about that much. Then again, why bother? I don't find the Nissin lacking in power or feel.

I'm excited about the new upgrades on the SE model. Not crazy about the color but I can live with it. It's curve killin' time!

The Green/Blk(US) is very nice.No Akras though...and no Spoiler screen. Not for the US.Bummer.Everything else that COULD make this bike a TOTAL killer package they left alone.By now...they could have done a frame redesign and lightened her up.Guess Suzuki isn't chomping at the bit with a NEW superior Busa...So I guess Kawasaki rested on their laurels with this new one? That's too bad. They did a killer job with their zx10R....might have adapted some of that DNA to the new 14R.Oh well.Maybe a few years from now.

Three cheers for the new LCD. The old one is invisible in daylight and dim at night.

Never have a problem seeing mine at night and only time I have a problem during the day is polarized sunglasses through the visor. visor only or sunglasses only no problem.

WAS JUST WAITING FOR THAT!
Went to the dealership and bought a 2015 ZX14R FLAT carbon grey/green stripes.
No worth going for the 2016, as the updates were minor and not worth it comparing to the price deal on the 2015.
Picked up yesterday and put 300 miles on it today! AWESOME BIKE! MUCH MUCH better than my older 2007! much better handling and ergo metrics!
Cheers

*whew* Its always a scary thing when you look at "next years" bike, after you have just purchased a brand new machine.
I threw the Akra's on my 2015 SE within two days of owning her, so with the Ohlins + my Akras's, im pretty close to the 2016 14 :-) Happy days. I dont have any issues with the LCD, and the dots on the dash is a little gimmicky imho... but it's a 14, so its an awesome bike anyhow!
Ive been contemplating a MRA screen though.. especially for hwy kms..
i have 3500kms on my bike in just under 2 months! yes, i love riding her.

Morse code?
What kinda dots you got going there?

The MRA I'm using is worth every penny... completely eliminated the buffeting. And I'm not talking about several trays of food where you start from one end and work your way to the other because I still do that gig.

Hag Says..."The MRA I'm using is worth every penny... completely eliminated the buffeting".Agree...it is a fine windscreen.

Oh, sorry i should have been clearer; I'm talking about the dots on the dials on the 2016 model. If you have a look at the pictures in the link above, it shows a close up of the dials, and you can see the dots I'm referring to... My 2015 model doesn't have any dots.. :-)

toledoUPSguy thanks for making the post about the "older" gauges. I feel the same way. never an issue for me either. UNLESS I'm wearing polarized sunglasses. I suppose there must have been some complaints or they wouldn't have changed it, but I thought it just fine.

The new zx-14r ninja,is down 10hp.vs.the 2012-2015 models, due to stricter Euro&US.emissions standards.Revisions to the ECU,evaporative systems,& stock exhaust have been made by Kawasaki.I checked part numbers for 2016,mufflers,header pipe, they are different from 2012-2015 part numbers. Also the cyl.head part number is different,on the 2016 zx-14r vs 2012-2015 zx-14rs.It will cost plenty to get that 10hp.back.Going to buy earlier year model now, really liked the new 2016 Green&Black.

thanks for the heads up. So that puts us a few hp more than the Gen1 now.
" CLAIMED CURB WEIGHT, 593 lb."
...and picks up 10 lbs over the 2015, too I hope that's all in the exhaust. Who's to say the head isn't better or as good? We can only hope.
nice brakes, though.

The '16 curb weight of 593 is a couple pounds heavier ('15 ABS (all) 590.9), not quite 10. The non-ABS bikes like mine curb weight is 584.
Still would've been nice to see it drop a few pounds. Most of the weight has to be in the motor, so unless it comes from there just not going to get rid of much. IMO they need to just integrate the frame into the motor, frankly can't see this frame as it sits doing a whole lot. There's nothing to it!
They could probably shed a few pounds in the body work. I imagine from Gen 1 to 2 that's where a little of the weight came from.

Hi Kolfa! Yes that new 10 sounds like it's an awesome sport bike with more low end and still topping 200 peak hp. Bikes are awful expensive nowadays though. Hard to imagine buying a 15000 dollar bike and spending a few more grand on mods. The 2015 zx-10 is still a great bike but I doubt you would be able to get much of a deal on a new one of those these days. Used lowball is probably the way to go.

True, but look at the Ninja H2. People are buying them fresh out of the oven. It appears that the 2016 ZX-10R is very competitive, for $10,000 less than the H2. lol
