Pulled the trigger today !
05/12/12 8:27 PM

Had to happen sooner or later.... found the perfect bike for my style of riding...

radial brakes..... 137 hp at the crank.... adjustable forks and rear shocks....looks kind of cool...great mid range and real tq for the street...alum frame and swing arm.... nice 3 way adjustable wind shield...and the best part was the deal on a left over.

2011 red and black ninja 1000 with faring....

sold new in 2011 for 10.999.00.... they sold me the bike for 8779.00 plus tax.... pick it up next week..

so now coming off of 66.4 hp the bike should have plenty of power for ME !

Hmm... $8800... 137 crank ponies... i dunno.

Is there a retrievable deposit anywhere in this scenario?

Yes grn the bike should fit me just right.... the busa and the 14r are just more then i need for now..im in the city half the time and need something lighter i can just mount and ride away on.

After i sat on the busa again the ergos are to leaned over for my style... the 14r was not bad at all.

No deposit left... have to still do the paper work and stuff...

ALMOST.....but i never owned a naked.... and since they don't allow test runs.... how would you every know....i took you advice and just happen to find a great deal on a left over ninja 1000..... when i went to look at the busa and the 14r again.

They wanted over 11 grand for the... 2012 honda cb1000r.... NOT ENOUGH bang for the buck..... 8799.00 sounds much better and i get a wind shield to boot.

I think from now on i will always look for left overs....because i payed 5149 for the 09 fz6r and with over 16,000 miles they gave me about 4100 on trade... so that's pretty good with those kind of miles.

The bike is a Monster.... motor pulls like a freight train... from 2 grand to 7.... have not open it up all the way yet.

Thanks rossb..... this bike is too much fun... and the mid range is off the hook.

400 miles already in about 4 or 5 days.... and the stock exhaust with the four outlets looks bad ass from the back for a std model.

94 miles kaw filter 1 gal rotella 15/40

Same at 274 miles.... just ordered a set of sport bike gel grips model 699.

May do a 16 ft sprocket instead of the stock 15... and when the stones go off... nice set of michelin pilot road 3 tires and this bike will be straight ... don't really see it needing anything more.

You don't need to change the oil that often. Follow the factory recommendations.

Why slow it down with a bigger front sprocket?

I like remove the metal that's in the oil during the early stages.... i guess you could call it overkill.

Not sure on the one up on the front yet... last month i was on a ride with the 600 about 80 miles on the interstate... and just about every car passed me coming home ... i said to myself if i every get another bike this will never happen again.

I will have to see after breakin is completed and see how the bikes holds rpms on the highway.... if i feel the bike is too jazzzed i may lower the rpm at say 75 to 80 mph.

But at 110 mph this bike is making it's peak tq...some riders have gone with this mod.... but i don't mind having bikes in the upper part of the rpm... so i will have to see how the powerband acts at highway speeds.

I use to scream ny ninja 250 on the highway at 8 to 9 thousands rpms for miles.... tough little bugger.
