Cam Cover Oil Seal Advice
03/24/12 4:07 AM

Hi All
Just noticed a slight weep from the oil seal, but from the right side( as you sit on bike) not the usual side by all accounts.
Its so slight that it dosnt form a drip, so i could leave it, but me being a tad anal ..want to fix it properly, with new seal, and bolt seals etc..
Do you need to remove the throttle bodies to get the cam cover off? The manual suggests this, but i don't want to remove stuff unless its really necessary??
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers
Dirk

You prolly don't need to. There is so much junk jammed under there that it is a lot easier to work if you just take stuff off and get it out of the way.

I would just try the washer fix. If that does not work then replace the gasket.

Mine still leaks after the washer fix but not as bad as before.
