Hey Rook,
I'm the guy with the damper. Must say it works well and as intended. Recently fabricated aluminum riser mounts to get rid of the temp steel redi-rod couplers. Not a fan of rust showing and also got rid of 5 oz. lol
Long term hasn't been reached yet but even if it doesn't last I'll just get another one.
Not the guy with the rear MC though.
I'll have to look at the PM's.

You might want to buy that backup soon before ant tariffs go into effect.
Thanks. i will report to a thread on zx1441. A guy was asking about Chinese steering dampers.

OHH--is that right?? Well, I think you guys may need some extra cash in the near future. Don't blame us for dumping on you. That was Trudeau's idea. I don't have anything to gripe about over Canada's leader but that decision he made last week undermined the US a bit. ...not that everyone here is in favor of the travel ban.

"full thread highjack engaged"
I don't like our child PM. He's a spoiled brat that can't see the real world other than what his SJW crew lets him know. Hope your guy destroys him before he can do irreversible damage.
"end highjack"
As for the Hindle I love it but I may try my hand at making an aluminum muffler with chambers. Just for something to do.

What is the diameter of the mid pipe between the collector and muffler?
Just got my Hindle 4-1 with carbon slip-on and the pipe is 2" but the ship-on is 2-1/4" inlet. Stock 1-2 slitter for dual exhaust is 2-1/4" tube. I kind of thought the 4-1 would be 2-1/4" not more restrictive of 2". Maybe I'm wrong and more back pressure improves engine performance?
Just want to figure out what they messed up. Or am I supposed to fill an 1/8th" gap with high temp silicone?
Thanks,
Dave

Hey David,
The mid pipe on mine is 2.25" OD. The collector pipe OD is also 2.25". My CF Hindle has a 2.25" ID for the inlet.
Not sure why you ended up with a 2" pipe and an inlet of 2.25" on the slip-on. You may be able to find a gasket online that would work but I wouldn't use silicone to fill that large of a gap. It would be very temporary before it leaked.

What year are your bikes?
Mine is 06. Hindle says they screwed up and sent the wrong slip-on so they are sending a new one. I know the header got larger diameter at some point on the newer 14s, not sure what year but even my 06 has 2.25" pipe between the collector and splitter for the dual exhaust.
Yes Nels is tuning my bike. 2 years ago I had him order me the Yoshi slip-on and he flashed my ECU in front of me when I picked up the slip-ons. Couple weeks ago had him dyno my bike to see if there was anything he could improve on from his original tune. He spent about an hour on the dyno tweaking the fual mapping in different RPMs an throttle positions and got another 7hp and 7ftlb of torque out of it. Took it out for a ride yesterday and it feels even better. Smoother, maybe a little more low end grunt. Told him I would ride it before I put the Hindle on. When I get the Hindle on I will be blocking off the PAIR valve and taking it back to him for more tuning. He thinks he can get another 6-10HP out of it plus the big weight loss should make a noticeable difference.

Nels got them squared away. Woodcraft's web page is not clear and the rep that Nels talked to tried to say that he told Nels there is 2 systems. The street version which is actually old Brocks inventory that they baught up and the race version which is actually what Hindle went to for all years of the 14/14R. Nels went to Hindle directly to find out what was going on. So anyway the new 2.25" system is on the way and should be here early this week and we returned the 2" system.
Soon as I get it installed its back to Nels for the tune. I also did the pAir block off so his tune will compensate for that too. Couldn't believe the whole system weighs 4 pounds less than just one of the stock mufflers. Nels had a ZX10 in his shop with the Hindle system on it so I got to here what it would sound like and it isn't to loud unless you get behind the bike then it is a little loud but hey I'm not planning to be behind my bike anyway.
Soon as I get it tuned I will post the results on Nels 2wheeldynoworks thread. Thanks for letting me know on your exhaust. Without you and Cuff I would have never known and would have been wondering why i got such little gain from a full system.
