I saw a posting here in 2012 and did a mod on my 2012 14r fuel cap that allowed me to close it without using the key.

I forgot how to do it, and bought another 2020 a few months ago.

Has anyone done this mod to their fuel cap to eliminate using their ignition key?

Please advise what part inside the cap to file down.

Just get a cheap quarter turn cap off of Ali Express. It will weigh as much as stock probably but if you go with an EvoTech, that will be about half the weight for around $200.
