Average price on slip ons?
07/22/13 9:19 AM

Hi all,

Was wondering what's the average price for a set of slip-on exhausts. I just exchanged my 2011 for a 2013 model and would like to fit a set of slip-ons.

I am interested to see the price differences for different countries. Makes it sometimes worth your while to buy abroad.

Thanks

Paul shop around it differs brand to brand. Paul do full system, more now, but you'll save down the road when you decide to go full...
This was an edit, as my previous post did a horrid job of communicating the bulging costs of performance mods.

Paul, one guy I ride with has the Scorpion Serket Carbon Fiber cans on his and I must say they look and sound incredible. With the Baffles out they sound 100% better than in. Pricey but very nice. Something to check out when you're shopping.

PS. Shark Helmets are the best!

Paul, check Hard Racing out of Mooresville, NC (hardracing.com) they have the Leo Vince 8717 carbon fiber EvoII slipons for $722.94. Sounds expensive I know, but that is $300.00 cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Best deal for the money IMHO---I'd buy them if I had the money......

Wolfman,

I traded the green one for the red one.

Would have liked to keep it as a project bike, but to many irons in the fire. I really like the colour scheme on the green but the red is slowly growing on me.

Anyone got experience with the dual slip ons from Bodis? Looks very good quality.

Would like to know what it sounds like compared to say Akrapovic.

Paul, one thing to consider, if you get Stainless steel slip ons versus carbon or black, they require a lot of polishing, they may look good on certain colors of bikes, but they area bit of a pain to keep looking nice, also when you rub them out, you can scratch them if you dont use the right polishing agent ....

Check out Cblasts Muzzy's, I think you will like them ! I know I do !

remember to add the price of the full system that you will buy an a year.

I always recomand buying used cheap slipons or just get a full system. If you buy new, you are spending an awful lot for something that you will not be able to sell for more than half the cost. Make sure it is what you want. There are numerous threads about the weight and performance superiority of a full system over slipons. ....not that you really need the hp with your 14r .....but WTF not?

a thousand dollars would get you a new full system a few years back. IDK about now. Check the price on an Alien head from Brock.

14 hundred $

I was originally planning on going for the (pricey) Graves slip-ons (which look great)- in the end I settled on the Brock's QuietKore CT Single, and I'm really glad I did- with a full system you gain more power and lose quite a bit more weight (note, though, you'll have to add a PC-V as well, so that's another $275 give-or-take)- it's better to pay more upfront and cry once...;)

I will definitely go with either black or carbon and it makes sense to buy used (slip on or full) when you can find something in good nick. Thanks for all the advice
