H/Bar risers
07/02/12 3:15 AM

Hi everybody,

I received my handlebar risers from the states on Friday, and fitted them on Saturday morning. It took all of 15 minutes, including having to enlarge one mounting hole slightly on R/Hand riser.
It looks good, feels easy on the hand, and worked brilliantly on the open road. I used to lose feeling in my right hand after extended riding, but this weekend i did 325Km and 275Km respectively, NO LOST FEELING at all.

The more upright sitting does affect one thing though!! My helmet does get a lot more wind buffeting. I have fitted a MRA screen, but from 190KM/h it gets BAD!! I most probably will do a mod and extend the sreen with a flip up. One thing I want to say to all you guys in the good old US of A. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to parts, accessories, and in general stuff you can fit to a bike. From the time I put in an order until I have it in my hand, it takes 3 weeks!!!!

Next project- Bazazz fueling and quick shifter combo system.

I agree they are comfortable but I've never found the stock config to be uncomfortable. I also found the handling to be a bit less crisp with the risers BUT most don't agree, so enjoy.

Hi Boffin- What brand of risers did you install and how much did they raise the bar height? Any problems with the fit of the throttle cables or brake/clutch hoses? Any interference with the fairing at full lock turn to left or right?
thanks Mort

Hi Mort,

Soryy for only coming back to you now. I used the risers from Genmar Mnf. They fitted in 15 minutes, and I had NO problems with clearance, cables or anything whatsoever. They are very well made.

Genmar risers = 1 inch
Heli Risers = 3/4 inch
I have had both, Genmar on my 07 and heli on my 12.... Both work well

Next project- Bazazz fueling and quick shifter combo system.

BTW, look into the HM Quickshifter if you're going with rearsets. Nothing against Bazaaz or their products but if you want a good quality item that has a lifetime warranty, no moving parts, completely adjustable and currently used in MotoGP by almost all of the teams... It's the best upgrade I have installed so far!
