And to think, there are still some motorcyclists who can't understand why motorists view them in a poor light...

Ah, ya, A lot of them don't like us anyways, even if we are doing the speed limit etc ...

It pisses them off that we can legally get it front of them in CA., they also don't like
that our bikes at so much faster than most of their cars ...

"And to think, there are still some motorcyclists who can't understand why motorists view them in a poor light.."...I have to agree with this observation. As much as I like 'being free' out there riding...I still have to be mindful of what I'm doing in regards to others. How I'm driving. It's easy to blame cages for 'being so stupid'...things happen.Truth is though...MOST cage drivers NEVER rode bikes.Don't even have 'bikes' or bike riders in their thoughts daily...which actually is fine.I understand it.Why should they?(meaning...it's not their priority). When I pass a cage at 130...is that appropriate?No...it's not.If they're doing 70...I should be passing 'safely' at...say...85...to get around em...then back into my lane safely and back at a legal(okay...10 mph over)the limit. That's what I've been working on in the last several months.I feel better. They feel better. My last ticket definitely caused me to start thinking more about what I'M doing....guys riding like that video shows...it's not okay IMO.And it does cause a negative reflection on those who honestly just wish to ride 'normally'...

We have em here as well...not the packs of sportbike guys doing this...but each new season...there are about 5 or 6 guys(youngins)that get out on their 1000's and 750's and such and ride wheelies and all down 35 mph roads here in town.I'm not one of em...funny thing is....I NEVER see em out there on the cool open roads riding the curves and having fun doing that.Sad really IMO...would be fun to get out and do that with some of these cool sportbikes...oh well...I find people out there riding..some on big sportbikes...usually from out of state passing through..that appreciate the open curves and such here...and I get to cruise and such with em occasionally...for a little while...till I roll ahead and go on my own again.I do think however that to alot of riders that come through here...they may be feeling 'intimidated' by the mighty Ninja.Lots of times they 'wave' me by....I mean...c'mon...let's ride together for a while...kick things up a notch...and have a bit of clean fun...some will...most won't.It's cool...I get it.Fun though to get these kinds of responses just out riding my Ninja....;)

Just a few weeks ago...I was coming back from a nice 300 miler.Open roads...perfect weather...came up on like 4 Harleys with passengers...they were doing like 85.Nice.I pulled in behind the tail gunner...followed for a bit...then the road opened up even more...nice big long straight...so I rolled out...video'd as I was passing(safely...just above their speed..looking over and filming em as I passed each one)...they were cool...thumbs up and such.Pulled away.Within about a minute...these big ass cruisers fly by me.It was...exhilerating!Loved it!Rolled up on em again...100 mph at least...way cool. They held that for a few miles...then the big lefthander was comin up.I know this curve...it's a blast at triple digits. No one else on the road.Just us.So I nailed it and leaned in.Just to let em know...'my bike's badder than YOUR bike' (in a fun way).I was gone...but it felt really good to have those big bikes rollin along like that....no 'fuck you' goin on....just enjoying our rides...never saw em again....but have em on vid....very cool;)Nice bikes as well...very.

They probably thought I was some young gun tryin to make his mark....if they only knewLOL!!!(it was all safe...no dumb moves on any of our parts).

I have a lot of respect for the cops that work in crime ridden areas and literally put their life on the
line everyday, BUT I have little respect for these MC cops that just sit in alleys, hiding with their LIDAR
or whatever, waiting to nail people going 5-10 MPH over the speed limit, which cost about $300 PLUS traffic
school PER TICKET !
The guy across the street is retired LAPD, and he said "Yea, all those motorcycle cops do, is give out tickets"
LOL !
And there are ALOT of them around my area !!! they really could be getting people running red lights, (which
is much more dangerous) or other things like that, but those guys that just sit there for hours at a time
just waiting to nail people, they piss me off, so while I wouldn't be popping wheelies on the freeway,
there is a small part of me saying "YEA !" see, a lot of cops routinely speed, when they are NOT on
call, I've followed them MANY times, and they usually end up at a place to eat or something like that ,

one time they pulled into a donut shop ! I'm not kidding !!!

"A motorcycle stuntman who filmed himself taunting a police officer while other bikers performed tricks on a freeway in California has been arrested, police said on Thursday.

Police said Guruardas Singh Khalsa filmed himself and some 50 other riders popping wheelies and standing on their bike seats at speeds upwards of 70 mph (113 kph) on the San Francisco Bay Area freeway on Oct. 11.

The video has gone viral on YouTube, attracting more than 1.5 million views by late on Thursday, and has been broadcast by local media.

At one point in the clip, a California Highway Patrol officer attempts to slow the riders down to pull them over. The cameraman can then be seen shooing the officer away and waving goodbye.

Khalsa, 32, of Brentwood, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with suspicion of being an accessory after the fact and obstructing or delaying a police officer, CHP said.

Though none of the suspects were arrested at the scene, police said they expected there would be additional arrests."

Bad enough giving bikers a bad image, but riding bikes in t-shirts and shorts... WTH

I rest my case, LOL!!!
.
The crazies did the same thing down in South Palm Beach, Broward and Dade County on I-95, and US 27. It made the news (with videos!!); pissed off the populace and innocent drivers; and of course there have been the demands to the house reps and senators to "do something to protect us from these godless heathens", etc.
.
Meanwhile back at the ranch (so to speak...), Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), and any other god fearing, righteous, and otherwise bored and looking for something to do law enforcement officers out and about have decided that "this sort-of thing has to stop!!!" - Besides - It's something to do when you are either out on US 27, or sent to police purgatory (patrol I-95...).
.
We shall see what happens... Sportbike traffic stops have increased here. Oh well...
