Ya know I used to think it was good until I got the 4 into 1 Yosh pipe. Now it runs free on the top end. Whereas it used to peter out after 9500 to 10000. Now its pulling like it doesn't know that its time to quit right past 11000 and thats gotta mean faster but I haven't gone to the drags to check it out but its real obvious. I love it. I guess after so many miles the weakness on the top end became apparent and didn't match the strength of the mid range and now it does.

when I had an 06 it made 158.9 dead stock and 164 after slip ons,a PC and no flies. The runs were done on a dynojet 250i. From what I have seen those are very realistic numbers you have. I'm sure someone will tell you something is wrong with the dyno etc......... because they got 176hp while all stock. LOL

Hi bOOfa

first, I don't think you are "low" for a basically stock bike, my 08 ran 159.47 hp, 99.67 torque witht he only change being a K & N air filter, not that that makes much difference. However, I think both your 08 and mine are running fairly rich direct from Kawasaki, and that some of the dyno tuners building custom maps may not be taking the effects of the catalytic convertor into account when dialing in air/fuel ratios.

my best guess, looking at the dyno chart with the air/fuel ratio you posted, and seeing from your signature that you are using dual slip ons with a stock header, is that the air/fuel ratio readinngs were taken from a gas sniffer stuffed up the muffler, taking its readings from AFTER the catalytic convertor in the header. See the thread under catalytic convertor here in "Performance Upgrades".

The dyno chart from your bike shows it picked up power as the dyno tuner leaned out the air/fuel ratio for your second run, but in actual fact that air/fuel mixture is likely still considerably rich, as the catlytic convertor burns off a fair bit of the fuel from the exhaust, before the exhaust gets too the sniffer. So, the sniffer is reading the air/fuel mixture AFTER the catalytic convertor does its thing and removes excess fuel. THE AIR/FUEL RATIO SHOWN ON YOUR DYNO CHART IS NOT ACCURATE AND IS SHOWING A SKEWED READING, DUE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR BEFORE THE GAS SNIFFER USED BY THE DYNO OPERATOR, AND RESULTING IN A STILL OVERLY RICH MIXTURE EVEN THOUGH THE DYNO CHART SHOWS THE MIXTURE SUPPOSEDLY SLIGHTLY LEAN ON THE SECOND RUN.

don't take my word for it, phone DynoJet technical directly, as I did, and ask them yourself, then go back and have a chat with your DynoJet tuner and have him re-do your custom map properly........ Better yet, install a wide band O2 sensor in the header, and make the DynoJet operator take the air/fuel readings from your sensor installed in the header, to get real world accurate air/fuel mixture readings.

Paul

tte: Just had mine done today. Mods are... DNA Air Filter, PCIII, Secondary Butterflies removed. That's it. Stock cans.

Rear Wheel HP: 184.28
Max Torque: 112.46 ft/lbs

TT, We see the torque spec? Did you say, "Stock cans?" OK, so maybe I won't be after you. Gonna sneak up on your pee see me coming did you?

Are you King'Z of the heap @ 112.46 foot on the ground pounding out a knee slap her? Nice numbers, TT.

Is this the, "Dyno Room," b00fa?

RDRE, You are so close.

If Brock never pulled the valve cover off but to check lash, made over 113lbs. on the '06, he is king of the heap. That was the last number I remember reading. How the factory got their 114lb. rating printed in the book, sort of sounds like Brock's peak tq rating is as close to book as you get > Bone stock.

And I assume Brock's bike is bone stock. No bore/no port/no came move/no rod direction change/etc = Just move the air on both end, meaning. Only his dyno room nose.

My 14 felt the same way....pulled ridiculously hard up to 9500-10000 then seemed to flatten out. The Scorpion race cans helped that noticeably, but it still did it to a degree. Its good to hear the yosh cured that prob. It sounds like that was just the nature of the stock exhaust more than cam/engine design.
