MATTHEWS, N.C.-- Police say speed was a major factor in a crash that killed two people Saturday and seriously injured two others.

A motorcycle driven by ****** ****** of Monroe, struck an SUV on Independence Blvd. just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Police say the motorcycle hit the SUV with such force, it tipped it over.

********, 36, and his passenger ******** ******, 24, were killed on impact.

Two other passengers in the SUV were seriously hurt from the impact.

They have been taken to the hospital.

The crash is still under investigation

Yeah, I heard about it this past weekend...If this is the same incident, the guy was pushing 130mph on his bike while be chased by police. It's crazy..pushing the upper speed limits requires so much attention; doing it while being chased puts too many variables in the equation for something bad to happen especially loss of life.

Same sort of accident here in SA two months back, the dead lads dad said in tears he was a fully "experienced rider" ("20"yrs old) in a 60kmph zone on a late model CB600rr killed himself and moved the large SUV 20+ meters creasing the roof to the middle and seriously injuring the passenger over the crest of a suburban road, his dad also said his son would of being doing the speed limit! also with-in 15 min's another young man on a late model GSX600r hit a learner driving truck going through a tunnel. bad sad day
