Donkey Dick
03/30/15 8:10 PM

I went to use my Pit Bull Rear Stand after just picking up my new bike today and learned that the rear fender under the license plate extends all the damn way down past the plate and toward the ground so that the stand can't be placed under the bike. It's made out of plastic but I don't want to trash it by cutting it with the wrong saw.

Has anyone reduced this enormous Donkey Dick with some kind of saw?

Take a hack saw and calmly, gently, smoothly cut the reflector on the bottom of the rear fender off ... After that my Pit Bull rear stand works fine.

Thanks, Mate! Will do.....a nice Hack Saw, you say? I think I have a decent one, otherwise I'll buy a nice crafty type one for a good clean cut and I'll hack away at that ugly dong. What were they trying to do, create some sort of mudflap down there? LOL

Must be why Pitbull makes a specific stand for the zx14 and busa if you haven't removed the rear fender.

Yeah, a hack saw or coping saw ... whichever you have that has the finer teeth ... the plastic is very soft and very easy to cut, so using the finest tooth saw you have will provide the smoothest cut.

Here's the best pic of what mine looks like ... just follows the shallow "V" shaped lines of the bottom of the fender itself when cutting the reflector off.

Looks great without that bicycle reflector also. I'm glad to know that I don't have to mutilate the fender to get the stand to work.

You can remove it totally, it's a few bolts. I haven't had any issue with water slinging etc. the only issue is there is no place to put your number plate. If you have to have a plate then there are various smaller brackets/tail tidies that will work. Her ass looks much better without it though [/url]

just get some L brackets from Lowe's. i have a tutorial. Also one for license plate light.

Can't say for sure but I'll bet the 14r has a pretty similar set of holes in the undertail as the Gen1 for a DIY license plate bracket and light.

That looks nice, toledo. I preferred it to be farther back like nkd's up there but after seeing it right there by the bolt holes + the perfectly located LED hole, I call that the perfect all around place for the plate.

That plastic crap is nice and easy to cut, customize and mutilate at will.

I cut mine with a dremall bit then used the sandpaper bit to smooth it down after my mutilation. I now have about 5mm lip hanging down past the plate to hint at a fender, but it's gone where I needed it gone.

Next is the Kriega setup with my straps under the seat until needed.

I couldn't be more proud to own one of these big girls.

For some reason this forum has returned to it's beloved stature. I kind of feel like a man whom shed a nasty flu and can breathe again? Birds are chirping, sun is shining. Warm air returns. Sausages on the barbecue and not threads. To what do I owe this pleasant state of atmospheric bliss? Anyone? Anyone?

AhhhhhhhHhhhhhhhhhh!

Donkey Dicks do that. But we all want to get rid of them.

I made mine out of a couple L brackets. I also plugged in an LED licence plate light I had laying around. It's the stub poking out of the center hole. I plugged the rest of the holes with some plastic quick rivets, or whatever they're called.

EDIT: Can't seem to get the pic links working!

Yeah, just take it off. Takes no time to do, then like someone else said, I just made a tag holder with a couple little L brackets. Cheap and easy!

Hi apexlocator

I took my original and cut & shaped it until I was happy, then I painted it Metallic Spark Black to match
the rest of the bike. Very happy with the end result.
