Bought 07 ZX 14 with 3200 miles on it. When checking out found body screws were loose. Began to tighten with Allen wrench and concerned about over tighten - not wanting to strip or crack body. Should they tighten to the "stop" or just taunt? What about use of locktite for threads? Thanks...

those screws thead into wellnuts the nut is inside a rubber wall which expands when tightened. you do not want to over tighten or it will ruin the well nut as for lock tight i don't think its needed as the bolt goes against the rubber part of the well nut i use a allen head socket with extension and just get as tight as i can by hand have never had any bolt loosen up on me. You may wanna inspect the well nuts next time you have the fairness off if you need to replace any of them they can be purchased at your local ace hardware store for a fraction of the price of a dealer

Very useful information. Just got the ZX 14 and trying to learn quickly do's and dont's. So far so good.

Don't ever use locktight on well nuts. The nut will spin in the rubber and good luck getting that out.
